Our dear friend Jenni has started documenting her experiences in and around the focal points of the resistance in NE Syria - Kobanî and Tişrîn. I'll be reposting her videos and photos here. You can follow her as jkeasden on many other sites, inc. telegram: https://t.co/jrMMkVFAPE
If true, this is not a serious offer. Kurdish as an official language is a reality on the ground, not a concession. It’s been the primary language of public life for Kurds for 14 years. Damascus has neither the manpower nor the resources to reinstate Assad-era suppression.
Good news: I am INNOCENT over charges of entering Greece 'illegally', a court has found.
I was in 🇬🇷 BEFORE my ban from Schengen Zone was imposed, so it was absurd to charge me for breaching it!
Now to overturn this unjustifiable ban, imposed at Turkey's behest.

In case you missed it, my colleague @MattBroomfield1 is back reporting from NE Syria, posting multiple videos per day. He is currently in the Kobanî region, an area whose very existence hangs in the balance between the decisions of Turkey, HTS, and the new Trump adminstration.
I'm in Kobane hospital, where injured civilians are arriving from a Turkish airstrike on a nearby fruit and vegetable market. Multiple deaths reported.
Many of the victims were Arab children.
Mohammed Isa Abdi, 10, (pictured) lost his brother, 13, in the strike.
I'm glad to be back reporting from Kurdish-led North and East Syria.
The new Syrian flag is flying. Assad's hated posters and statues have been torn down. But millions here face grave threats as Turkey attacks the region and pressures the new rulers in Damascus to follow suit:
I joined several protest marches like this to Sere Kanî in Oct 2019 and when it became clear that the SNA would treat us as combatants they were stopped.
Protests like this only work if your enemy has a reason (like waivering domestic political support) to not murder civilians.
I rarely publicly disagree with the self-administration because I don't think it's my place as a foreigner to do so, but I can't see any reasonable justification for this.
Turkey have shown they absolutely do not care that these are civilians and will treat them as combatants
My latest @thenation, with proposals for incoming US administration:
📌 Make Syrian sanctions relief contingent on dialog between HTS & Kurdish-led NES
📌 Leverage Magnitsky sanctions to permanently end Turkish attacks on US allies
📌Surge d-ISIS funding

Glad to see senior Syrian Kurdish politician and North and East Syria diplomatic head @ElhamAhmadSDC in the UK for talks.
By working with our anti-ISIS partners on the ground in NES, the UK can play a strong, positive role in guaranteeing a secure future for all Syrians:
An ambulance belonging to the #Kurdish Red Crescent was targeted by a Turkish airstrike near the vicinity of Tishreen Dam, according to local media reports.
There’s such a short-sighted & unjust narrative in the British media on subject of ISIS recruits, along the lines of “let ‘em rot over there, take their passports and throw away the key”. Matt makes a clear and undeniable case for repatriation in his latest article. A must-read.
In 2019, we found British 'ISIS matchmaker' Tooba Gondal in a Kurdish-run camp.
6 months later, Gondal + 100s of ISIS affiliates fled thanks to Turkish airstrikes.
Now, UK must repatriate Brit ISIS members & back its Kurdish allies to prevent another mass break-out.
My latest:
The British public and government are dead set against any repatriations of jihadis from Syria. They’re wrong.

Really can't understand westerners that look at this conflict and decide that being a mouthpiece for moderate head-choppers and unrepentant rapists seems like a good career choice. Such a craven and soulless way to earn a living.
Alledged SDF crimes: unidentified men smacking about detainees.
Proven SNA warcrimes on camera: beheading Kurdish politicians, cutting breasts of captured YPJ women, kidnap and rape of civilians, shooting patients in hospital beds etc etc.
Lister: "there's crimes on both sides"
