Trump: "At one year, you should have 5 separate visits for vaccines rather than getting them all in the same day. I've seen proof of where they have a vaccination thing that looks like the size of a bottle of soda and pour it into a little child's body."
Shy'tyra Burton is 22 years old. She lives in Philadelphia with her dad, a city sanitation worker. Her IQ tests below seventy. After years of medical evaluations and a hearing in front of a federal judge, she qualifies for SSI โ $994/month. Now Trump's people are writing a rule that would take up to $330 of that every single month, by assessing the dollar value of her bedroom and deducting it from her benefit.
This is the second attempt. The first one was killed when ProPublica exposed it. Same people โ Russell Vought at OMB and Frank Bisignano at SSA โ are back with a new version, buried deeper in the regulatory process. Up to 400,000 disabled Americans could lose benefits.
Forty Down syndrome organizations have already sent a letter opposing it. The National Association of Evangelicals โ not a liberal group โ has come out against it. When you've lost the evangelicals on a disability cut, you've lost the room.
The man writing this rule had to Google what the Social Security Commissioner does when Trump offered him the job. A Republican congressman called his testimony "embarrassing for my side." Now he's deciding whether Shy'tyra keeps her check.
The rule is in OMB review. A public comment window is coming. That's how it was stopped last time.

Neil DeSanti spent years screaming about โstolen elections.โ Storming the AZ Capitol. Ranting about dead people and illegal votes deciding races. Running for state House twice on โelection integrity.โ
Turns out he wasnโt even legally allowed to vote himself.
DeSanti was indicted this month on 6 felony counts โ false voter registration in 2012, 2018, 2020, and 2021, plus illegal voting โ because he never had his voting rights restored after pleading guilty to multiple felonies in 2010.
He didnโt just vote illegally. He ran his mouth about โvoter fraudโ for years while doing it โ praising the 2020 Maricopa โaudit,โ pushing the AZ Senateโs partisan review, tweeting about โillegal immigrantsโ votesโ being counted.
And right now, DeSanti still holds a post that requires legal voter registration: Republican precinct committeeman in his north Phoenix district.
More fraud by republicans.
I just want to see how many people will respond to my question.
Do you find yourself waking every day feeling depressed, anxious and overwhelmed by the cruelty and lack of empathy from Trump's Administration or is it just me? ๐
