@JusticeKiziahC @ChurchofSatan i also thought that leaarning about satanism was interesting because i come from a Christian background. the way that i viewed satanism was not what i thought it was. It's a religion based on satire and jokes, but i used to believe it was just a stem of evil!

@hannahblevins00 i think it takes longer for people to really come into the realization that when the law changes they should/can change too. People were hesitant, it seemed, to come out of their old ways and traditions. Honestly, they were probably just so used to how they lived their lives.

@KimSmithREL2121 i think that evangelicals seem to take on more of the traditional Protestant view, when Pentecostalists seem to have more of a mixed religious view. As @Dillonrel2121 said, they speak in tongues and perform things such as the snake ceremony. #REL2121S18

@BrookeBt17e i feel like much of social media, or in the older times newspapers and such, influence many of the people's views who donate. Most of the time i think they just want to be able to consider themselves "good" people for donating in the first place.

I found it ironic that many evangelicals involved in The Moral Majority ended up in scandals. For ex., Jim & Tammy Bakker were charged with sexual improprieties and financial deals, and Jimmy Swaggart was found on cocaine and sexually involved with a male prosititute.#REL2121S18

I think one of the reasons that Pentacostalism became the largest Christiann group outside the Roman Catholics is because of it's wide variety of acceptance of many religious groups. It seems as if Pentacostalism in the 1900s was a mixture of many religious ideas. #REL2121S18

The most interest person I've learned about is Eldridge Cleaver. He went from being a active Black Panther who wrote a memoir that utterly shocked the Christian conservatives, to actually BECOMING an evangelical himself! Then, created the religion "Christlam". #REL2121S18

I had absolutely no clue there were actual religions that were based off the "extraterrestrial" and UFO's! Emannual Swedeborg was actually known for writing about the first "fantastic voyage", claiming to have gone to outer space and met inhabitants. #REL2121S18

The epidemic at Waco (Davidians) really makes you question who had more power in the mass murder/suicide that occurred. Yes, it might have been part of their religion to follow David Koresh's word, but does that mean he wanted his followers to die with him selfishly? #REL2121S18

My favorite part about learning about John Harvey Kellogg's Battle Creek Sanitarium was finding out that the first tanning bed EVER was introduced here! They believed that the light exposure through the sun and light bulbs would help create more nutritious skin. #REL2121S18
