Pogrebinschi’s book concludes with a prognosis: “While #demoinno since 1990 was mostly the work of state-driven participatory institutions that relied on #deliberation, the future of #citizenparticipation belongs to digital mechanisms and processes initiated by #civilsociety” 5/7

It contains the first typology of democratic innovations based on a large-N dataset of cases evolved at national and subnational levels across eighteen countries for thirty years. Pogrebinschi’s typology comprises 20 subtypes of democratic innovations. 3/7
