@mgafni I’m in West Sonoma/Marin. Didn’t feel anything but got both the Earthquake Alert and the Tsunami Alert. No info on social that I can find from official sources. Any leads?
@chrisdouridas Thank you for Dina Ögon’s Oas! I heard it first on Boxing Day on Eclectic 24 and fell in love with it. So nice to hear it come around again in your always-elevating Sunday mix. For which! Thank you so much, while I’m here… 🌸🎶
I'm at the point where I'm publicly soliciting...creative solutions. Are there institutions out there that actually want to build capacity for scientist-communicators in the many domains that are screaming out for it? This is not a rhetorical question--I am genuinely asking.
Relieved to see this video. I thought this was a me thing, turns out there’s a reason you can’t understand the actors on your favorite shows as well as you used to! https://t.co/mhHM3ysuPI
@latrippi I am so jealous that you got to see Television in their prime! It’s crazy how much Television foreshadowed the sound of rock a decade later. Truly ahead of their time…
@TravisHolcombe Thank you for the Tom Verlaine and Television! I figured I could count on you.
One of the best concerts ever: Television at Irving Plaza Thanksgiving Eve 1978. Ain’t That Nothin live —incredible.
He was always already out beyond the rest of us. Respect.
Oh, wait — here it is. Lightning truly struck itself.
He was always already out beyond the rest of us. Rest in the beauty of the music you were channeling, Tom Verlaine.

Deep reading: I've written a lot & made many "films" but AFAIK just 1 text (2007) & 1 CD-ROM set (1995-6) earned a deep reading. Too much work out there, too little time. It would be wonderful to hear real feedback, real critique. Do we work just to be part of an amnesic stream?
@footage The labor, thought, feeling, the accumulated craft that's gone into making them, not to mention simply time on the part of the creators. And we treat them like, what, disposable items to maybe decorate a list, if we do that sort of thing. WHAT are we doing tho.
@footage I've been thinking about this with books & films in general. I find it really troubling. Using Libby last year, I've been fed and read many remarkable books, also stellar shows on streaming services. I try to savor them but, b/c life, click to the next. And they're lost. Poof!
