Right now, the FL Legislature is fast-tracking a bill to ban all trans athletes from sport at all levels.

I’m a MA student in Sport Politics at the German Sport University who is also fully familiar with the FL Senate.

Let’s talk about why it’s so problematic #LetKidsPlay 🏳️‍⚧️

I debated whether to share this. I did apologize on the air. But I invite you to read my introspection on @BulletinAtomic of how extreme weather 📈 driven by global warming has changed me. Frankly, YOU should be shaken too, and demand #ClimateActionNow. https://t.co/09vxgabSmX

RT @US_Stormwatch: Hurricane Milton's minimum pressure has dropped to the infamous sub-900 mb mark, with a central pressure of 897 mb, maki…

22 hours ago Milton was a tropical storm.
Now it's a Cat 5 hurricane.
This is what happens on an overheated earth.

This is Anna Maria Island, near Tampa, after Helene. A complete loss- looks like a bomb went off. The residents didn’t have time to clear this debris before having to evacuate again for Hurricane Milton, which will be a major hurricane when it hits on Wednesday. Heart breaking.

10/07/24 11am Major Hurricane Milton Update
⚠️Now a Category 5 Hurricane
⚠️If the storm stays on the current track, it will be the worst storm to impact the Tampa area in over 100 years.
⚠️Please evacuate if told to do so.
⚠️Complete all prep before tomorrow night. #flwx

If I had written this:
“2 games, postponed due to intensifying hurricane Helene (aka climate-induced extreme weather event). Restructured as a DH, which intensifies the demands on athlete health and performance (among other things)”

@maddyjorr I LOVE this

[eve andrews @eefandrews]

for @TheAtlantic, i make the argument that we should be funding our urban public pools -- which have declined over the last half-century -- as climate infrastructure.

(this includes what i am pretty sure is the highland park pool's atlantic debut.)

“Athletes have become the moral conscience of sport.” -
@JulesBoykoff

Exactly right.

New report out by @BASIS_org highlights athletes voices regarding extreme heat problems🌡️🔥 at Paris2024 - and tying these concerns to a call for ending fossil fuel $ in sport. 10/10 no notes.
