@NightMngr @jockowillink After I’d been doing this for maybe 6 weeks it became very routine.
Which meant that 90% of the challenge was probably contained in the 3 or 4 most difficult weeks, involving travel, sickness, etc.
Also guillotines are sick AF.
@wil_da_beast630 Reminds me, someone once told me that there are the same number of whole numbers, and whole even numbers.
For each whole number (say 3), we can pair it up with an even whole number by doubling it (6). That's a one-to-one relationship. So there should be the same number of each.
@oliverhjwilson @chrisremo @magiciansbook Many (most?) places in the US would call that grilling, not barbecuing. Barbecue is usually used to indicate the slow-smoking method that originated from Barbacoa. I.e. ribs, brisket, smoked chicken, etc.
“If you only wished to be happy, this could be easily accomplished; but we wish to be happier than other people, and this is always difficult, for we believe others to be happier than they are.”
Montesquieu said this 300 years ago. We’re still working on this one.
@mkobach@AmandaMGoetz A smaller pool of better candidates sounds ideal.
If you're looking for a long term partner, an ideal dating app is one you won't be on forever.
@Collinson Hi, currently waiting on pre-flight PCR results for a flight tomorrow, and I need to know if I'm going to get my result in time. I've sent a DM with my details. Thank you.
@Collinson hi there, still waiting on my fit to fly PCR results, getting a bit worried. I’ve whatsapped 4h ago and no answer. I’ve also sent you a dm with my test details. Please can you help?
A simple, *hypothetical* example of the Base Rate Fallacy:
Suppose w/o a vaccine, 9/10 get hospitalized
Suppose w/ a vaccine 1/10 get hospitalized
(Note: a very good vaccine!)
Suppose 90/100 get the vaccine
What share of the hospitalized are vaccinated?
