TDS: Trump Delusion Syndrome
A chronic condition afflicting MAGA loyalists characterized by blind devotion, fact rejection, and uncontrollable urges to defend a PEDOPHILE AND convicted felon as a messianic figure.
Symptoms include hallucinations about election fraud, verbal incontinence on social media, and severe allergic reactions to truth, nuance and accountability.
😘
@BBCBenTavener Deep and extensive investigations into this alliance must take place, I believe the Trump 2.0 admin is conspiring with Russia against US national security and democracy.
Most people think exercise benefits the brain because it increases blood flow.
That is only part of the story.
Every workout triggers a cascade of biological signals from muscle, heart, liver, adipose tissue, and immune organs. These molecules travel throughout the body, influencing inflammation, energy metabolism, neuroplasticity, and cellular repair.
The result is not simply a healthier body.
It is a brain that processes information more efficiently, adapts more effectively, and resists degeneration for longer.
Your cognitive performance is not determined by the brain alone.
It is the product of constant communication between every major organ system in the body.
Exercise strengthens the entire network.
@48thAve@thejointstaff Ahh shut up.
Maduro has not been a legitimate president since day 1 back in 2013
+90% of all Venezuelans wanted Maduro out, and the Chavista regime too.
Those Cubans invaders deserved to die.
Castro-Chavismo is a plague that needs to be erased from history.
This review focuses on how polar lipids and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), especially docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), contribute to membrane organization, signaling, neuroinflammation resolution, and cognitive resilience during aging.
THE SAHARAN DUST IS HERE
What’s happening and what to do:
That hazy, milky sky we’ve been experiencing during the past few days over Santo Domingo is real.
We’re in the first major Saharan Air Layer (SAL) intrusion of the season, and INDOMET has it crossing the DR now. Evidence-based breakdown, no hype.
WHERE IT COMES FROM
Every few days from May to October, hot dry dust lifts off the Sahara and rides the trade winds ~5,000 miles across the Atlantic. June–August is peak. Much of it comes from an ancient dried lakebed in Chad, packed with minerals.
THE GOOD
This dust is one of the planet’s great fertilizers. NASA estimates ~22,000 tons of phosphorus a year fall on the Amazon from it and almost exactly replacing what the rainforest loses to rain. It also feeds Atlantic and Caribbean marine life with iron and phosphorus, suppresses early hurricane formation and gives us those orange sunsets.
THE COST
The dust carries fine particulate matter (PM10, PM2.5). Observational studies in Southern Europe show more cardiac and respiratory hospital events on dust days, with stronger effects on heart-related mortality: mostly for already-vulnerable people (asthma, COPD, heart disease, kids, older adults).
For a healthy person it’s an irritation, not a crisis. The exact risk is still debated, but the direction is worth respecting.
ACTION PLAN
1. Check air quality before you train (IQAir or your weather app). Numbers, not vibes.
2. Move hard sessions indoors: strength and Zone 1–2 over outdoor HIIT and long runs. Pause, don’t quit.
3. Seal your sleep: windows closed, AC on recirculate, HEPA purifier if you have one.
4. Mask if sensitive a KN95/FFP2 outdoors is reasonable.
5. Hydrate and don’t panic. This passes in days.
The Sahara feeds the Amazon and irritates our lungs in the same breath. Both true. Adjust intelligently, return to full output when it clears.

When it comes to fat/carbs, we should learn from history...
1970's-80's: *All* athletes should eat high carb if they want to be successful.
1990's: Recreational endurance sport ("Fun runs" etc.) takes off. Lots of low-moderate volume athletes eating in the same way as high-volume athletes, leading to problems...
Late 90's - 2000's: A lot of these athletes start encountering health problems as they age - insulin resistance etc, e.g. Tim Noakes, Mark Sisson... and start to revise their approach.
Also late 90's - 2000's: Long distance races e.g. Ironman start to really become popular, and a lot of folks realize they're very metabolically limited when it comes to the long stuff, even very high-level athletes e.g. Mark Allen. This is also when I started metabolic testing of these athletes, and it 100% confirmed these impressions.
2010's: This is taken to extremes and very low carb/keto becomes somewhat popular among athletes, esp ultra athletes - Volek/Phinney paper comes out etc., Athletes start to realize the performance limits of this approach eventually leading to a swing back in the other direction.
2020's: Back to where we started - *All* athletes should eat high carb if they want to be successful.
Biological aging isn't necessarily a one way street. Today on The Science and Experience of Energy, we discuss our research on the effects of stress on hair greying and our surprising findings that hair greying can sometimes be reversed.
While the prospects of reversing hair greying are exciting, the broader message is that some features of biological aging may be more dynamic, responsive, and malleable than we realized.
Our environment and life events have the potential to shape how our cells and our bodies age. And the methods we developed for measuring pigment in hair can help us understand how our everyday experiences affect our biology.
