Dear @WNBA:
Bigoted, homophobic, and racist attacks on social media and otherwise are not “outside noise” or something the Black and LGBTQ players in your league should have to increase their “mental toughness” to endure.
You can and should address the issue with intentionality, strategy, and courage.

Paige Bueckers so often willed the Huskies to victory during her UConn career that "We have Paige Bueckers and they don't" became a common refrain.
On Thursday evening in Hartford, the Dallas Wings had Bueckers, and the Connecticut Sun did not.

Paige Bueckers in 4Q (and OT) since this tweet was made:
vs. CHI: 10 points (100%)
vs. SEA: 17 points (64 FG%)
vs. LVA: 8 points (80 FG%)
vs: MIN: 8 points (67 FG%)
vs: CON: 11 points (100 FG%)
Most clutch player in the league 😮💨
“To feel the energy at the end of the game where the crowd was kind of vibing with the Wings… we enjoyed that. I love Connecticut down.”
Paige Bueckers on what is likely her final professional game in Hartford.
“ smartest person in the room….”
We know exactly what this means… that educated Black man was getting on their nerves so Boston had to get him up out of there. Wild.
Notice when you want an abortion the fetus is a person but when we talk about immigration, actual children are called offspring.
Words matter. They are saying the Nazi shit out loud. Listen to them.
Whatever one may think of what happened, it's pretty unconscionable that the WNBA commissioner wasn't trying to work the phones on both the Mercury and Fever's end to calm some of this down and figure out a solution moving forward.
