@NASAHubble Here is a zoomed in view of the gravitational lens. The background galaxy appears as two arcs: a small, distorted arc in the bottom right and a prominent arc in the top left. This specific configuration is called an arc-counterarc pair.
WAKE ME UP when you spot the strangest galaxy (galaxies?) in this image ๐ธ
Hidden among this @NASAHubble image of many galaxies lies an oddity in the bottom right. A foreground galaxy is acting as a gravitational lens, magnifying the light from a more distant galaxy behind it.
Starting the day on a high note! โ๏ธ๐ท About 250 miles high, to be exact. Tune in live as astronauts step outside the International @Space_Station for a spacewalk! ๐ https://t.co/LrCxkNW9Zu
@TheHappenVance@LinkedIn I think everyone has been in a similar situation. Totally sucks and I know for me, the way some of these jobs have ended have stuck with me and still make me shake my head...
I love all these goodbye appreciation for company posts on @LinkedIn . This big swan song about "X incredible years, grateful for my time at X". Bro, they cut your access before your coffee got cold? I get it, leave on good terms but don't kiss ass on the way out.
Imagine all the people who are important to history but whom you never hear about, and we'll never know what they looked like because no portraits exist.
As someone who used to work for Rentokil (before the Terminix merge), they were always slow to adapt to new technology. We always took orders from our parent company (in the UK) and they had no idea of our size here in the States - their technology mindset didn't scale well here
The pest control industry is worth $29B. Largest 2 firms (Rollins, Rentokil Terminix) account for 50% of revenue among top 100 pest control firms in US.
Market cap for both are down between 20-40% this year. One reason: people using AI chatbots for pest control reccomendations, and are being offered local options (while these global brands get hammered with bad reviews on Reddit).
