These past 2 months have been a rollercoaster for me (like for many of you as well, I know)

The constant hope-disappointment circle consumed me and my friends around me. 💔
Every time I tried to sit down and draw, I just wasn't feeling okay... My motivation dropped every single time there was an update, and I started to lose my love for this game, for this community.

So I had to pause every LADS animation project we were working on, to get some rest.

I started playing Zenless Zone Zero- back then I was curious about Hugo, and now I'm finally getting him for free- I love the combat, stories, animation, music, and sooo much free content (wow, a gacha can be like this? 🙃)

I traveled to Spain, met new people, enjoyed the amazing food, the vibe, the culture! I loved it so much 🥹💕I'll definitely return one day.

We also did some renovation, cleaning, and organizing around our house with my boyfriend, something we've been planning for ages, and now the environment feels so much better.

These things healed me little by little. So I finally finished a little animation. I don't want to give up on drawing or on the people who supported me. I really hope everything will be back to normal soon... and if you're still here, reading to the end of this post, this hug is for you as well! 🫂💖

Keep boycotting, make your voice loud, but in the meantime, take care of yourselves please! If you did already, tell us in the comments what you've been up to, I'd love to read them! 😍

Yes! I looked into the official sources, and I think the easiest way to understand it is:

This is not a new government-run job or a system where the government itself runs the agencies. MCNs are still private companies/agencies. The new regulation basically puts them under a formal regulatory framework and gives platforms and government authorities more responsibility for monitoring them.

The regulation is called “Administrative Regulations on Internet Information Content Multi-Channel Distribution Services” (互联网信息内容多渠道分发服务管理规定).

It was officially issued on May 29, 2026 by five government bodies: the Cyberspace Administration of China, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, State Administration for Market Regulation, and National Radio and Television Administration. It officially takes effect on September 1, 2026.

As for how it will actually work:

• MCN agencies have to legally register and obtain any required licenses.
• They have to appoint someone responsible for content management and have a content-management team.
• Platforms have to verify the MCN and sign an agreement with it.
• The platform has to display the name of the MCN on the profile page of accounts signed with that MCN.
• The MCN has to verify the identity of the people operating the accounts they represent.
• Platforms have to provide complaint/reporting channels for MCN-related issues.
• If an MCN or its contracted accounts violate the rules, platforms can issue warnings, restrict account functions, suspend monetization, restrict services, close the account, remove the MCN from the platform, or put it on a blacklist.

And yes, the regulation specifically prohibits things such as:

• fabricating or manipulating topics and information to mislead people
• deliberately stirring up emotions or encouraging group conflicts
• creating fake personas/backgrounds for misleading marketing
• fake followers, views, votes, ratings, traffic, etc.
• repeatedly mass-posting substantially identical content
• organizing, inciting, participating in, or assisting illegal online violence

So the important distinction is that the regulation is aimed at MCN agencies, platforms, and accounts operating through those agencies. It doesn’t mean every ordinary social-media user suddenly becomes subject to an MCN licensing system.

There was actually a draft version before this. In January 2025, CAC published a draft regulation specifically concerning MCN agencies and opened it for public comments. The current regulation is the finalized version that was officially issued in May 2026.

So basically, the September 1st date is real, and the regulation is real. The part I’d be careful about is interpreting it as the government “running” MCNs — that’s not what the document says. It’s a government regulatory framework for an existing private industry, with platforms acting as one of the main enforcement points.
