A janitor making $4/hour walked into a Fortune 500 company boardroom. Shaking, he took a seat opposite the CEO.

"So I had an idea..." he nervously began.

Years later, that idea would become an iconic consumer brand and make him worth ~$20M.

Here's how that meeting went 🧶👇

I think we should stop thinking of Envoy just as a proxy, because in reality Envoy is service networking platform that enables service operators and developers to create best practices via built in functions and extensible architecture. #EnvoyProxy

While we talk multi-cloud, here is Traffic Director creating truly global service network that spans clouds and on-prem with our intelligent load balancing. Works with proxies and proxyless grpc, VMs and containers https://t.co/KbIV2boWRt

Pure genius: a Swedish man invents a contraption that trains wild magpies to recycle bottle caps for food. After a few weeks they're really good at it!

Did women leaders handle Covid-19 better than male leaders? I crunched data & found that the death rate in female-led nations was 1/5 that of male-led nations. If the US had the death rate of female-led countries, the US would have saved 102,000 lives.

COVID Update May 21: Something is happening in the world that we should pay attention to.

Sadly we are ignoring it and the many warnings it represents. 1/

Ok here's a new one: did you know that cows can cause network outages? Don't laugh, it happened to us.

The beginning of the story: recently, we noticed frequent short outages ("flaps") on a multi-terabit fiber path through Oregon. 1/

Rebekah Jones said in an email to CBS12 News that her removal was "not voluntary" and that she was removed from her position because she was ordered to censor some data, but refused to "manually change data to drum up support for the plan to reopen." https://t.co/qWsPQ6eaDg
