I was fortunate to work with Dr. Frumovitz when I first started at @MDAndersonNews as a social work counselor. He was a great physician, teacher, and person. Everyone who worked with him loves him-his patients, teammates, colleagues, and fellows/residents.
Our @MDAndersonNews team mourns the passing of Chief Patient Experience Officer Dr. Michael Frumovitz. He was an exceptional physician who dedicated his professional career to extending and bettering the lives of our patients. He was also an extraordinary colleague, friend and mentor to so many. Michael's strength, his compassion, his wit and his impact will be felt for years to come. I will always be grateful for his commitment and the example he set for us all.
He has been a huge advocate for social work, patient experience, education/training, and gyn onc. His legacy in these areas (not even mentioning the many lives of families he has directly touched throughout his career) is too large to even quantify.
