Are you being serious right now? The Pharisees were not following the commands of YHWH. They were hypocrites. All they cared about was getting praise from men. They did not follow the heart of the law. They nullified the word of God. They added to the law. They ignored YHWH’s commands to show mercy and justice, to take care of the poor and widows, and to walk humbly with the LORD.
Let’s actually look at the text and see if Jesus agreed with you that they were devout YHWH worshipers.
“Hasn’t Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law! Why do you want to kill me?” (John 7:19, NET)
Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The experts in the law and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat. Therefore pay attention to what they tell you and do it. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they teach. (Matthew 23:1–3, NET)
“Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You give a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you neglect what is more important in the law—justice, mercy, and faithfulness! You should have done these things without neglecting the others. (Matthew 23:23, NET)
“Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs that look beautiful on the outside but inside are full of the bones of the dead and of everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you look righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. (Matthew 23:27–28, NET)
“Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have participated with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ By saying this you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up then the measure of your ancestors! You snakes, you offspring of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? (Matthew 23:29–33, NET)
He answered them, “And why do you disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition? For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Whoever insults his father or mother must be put to death.’ But you say, ‘If someone tells his father or mother, “Whatever help you would have received from me is given to God,” he does not need to honor his father.’ You have nullified the word of God on account of your tradition. Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me, and they worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ” (Matthew 15:3–9, NET)
Having no regard for the command of God, you hold fast to human tradition.” He also said to them, “You neatly reject the commandment of God in order to set up your tradition. For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever insults his father or mother must be put to death.’ …Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like this.” (Mark 7:8–13, NET)
If you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me. But if you do not believe what Moses wrote, how will you believe my words?” (John 5:46–47, NET)
Sounds like Jesus thought they were lawless hypocrites who were frauds and not faithfully loving YHWH with all their hearts or loving their neighbor like YHWH commanded.
No. The opposite. You are relying on external interpretation. You are not following the text. The text DOES NOT have an article. It is not talking about the Satan figure. It just means an adversary. YHWH could be acting in an adversarial position or an adversarial nation could have provoked David.
Either way, this text isn’t some gotcha so gnostics can find it thousands of years later to prove YHWH is Satan.
@Cleeeave@NoahP11108963@IsraelAnderson@mattwridley 1. What exactly do you think you’re showing here?
2. I’m sure you are aware there is no article used with satan. It isn’t referencing the Satan character.
3. The Hebrew word satan is used many times in the OT without referring to the devil.
That’s pretty funny considering I transcribed his videos and addressed what he was saying point by point. He needs to post the time stamp from either video where he discussed “the core argument.” It really doesn’t seem like he read my refutation at all lol.
What is he arguing that I don’t want people to know?
As for me spending months on it…some of us have a job and family. I do not get to sit around all day and do whatever I want like he does. I had to work on it here and there when I had free time. What a weird thing to say.
In his teaching Jesus also said, “Watch out for the experts in the law. They like walking around in long robes and elaborate greetings in the marketplaces, and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ property, and as a show make long prayers. These men will receive a more severe punishment.”
Mark 12:38–40
@Valuable@TyrReborn Yeah, exactly. This person claims he was an apologist, but he has been tricked by this nonsense? Either this person is the worst apologist ever or they are some kind of an op to push this confusion.
Anderson worships a different Jesus. And he’s trying to get yall to worship that entity as well. The true Jesus is YHWH in the flesh. Anderson’s fake “Jesus” is a devil worshiper named Enki who committed some of the most vile acts ever and allegedly deceived Eve. A deceiver. A trixter false god.
But I am afraid that just as the serpent deceived Eve by his treachery, your minds may be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3, NET)
The serpent is not Jesus. Jesus is YHWH.
No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven—the Son of Man. (John 3:13, NET)
Who has ascended into heaven, and then descended?
Who has gathered up the winds in his fists?
Who has bound up the waters in his cloak?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is his name, and what is his son’s name?—if you know! (Proverbs 30:4, NET)
It doesn’t say YHWH only sends rain on the righteous. In fact it says the opposite. He sends rain on everyone. That’s how rain works. If it rains anywhere in the world it will be raining on righteous and unrighteous people. The sun rises and sets on everyone. This is how nature works.
Ask the Lord for rain in the season of the late spring rains—the Lord who causes thunderstorms—and he will give everyone showers of rain and green growth in the field. (Zechariah 10:1, NET)
The Lord is good to all,
and has compassion on all he has made. (Psalm 145:9, NET)
He does great and unsearchable things,
marvelous things without number;
he gives rain on the earth,
and sends water on the fields; (Job 5:9–10, NET)
He waters the mountains from the upper rooms of his palace;
the earth is full of the fruit you cause to grow.
He provides grass for the cattle,
and crops for people to cultivate,
so they can produce food from the ground,
as well as wine that makes people feel so good,
and so they can have oil to make their faces shine,
as well as food that sustains people’s lives.
The trees of the Lord receive all the rain they need,
the cedars of Lebanon which he planted,
where the birds make nests,
near the evergreens in which the herons live. (Psalm 104:13–17, NET)
You visit the earth and give it rain;
you make it rich and fertile
with overflowing streams full of water.
You provide grain for them,
for you prepare the earth to yield its crops.
You saturate its furrows,
and soak its plowed ground.
With rain showers you soften its soil,
and make its crops grow.
You crown the year with your good blessings,
and you leave abundance in your wake.
The pastures in the wilderness glisten with moisture,
and the hills are clothed with joy.
The meadows are clothed with sheep,
and the valleys are covered with grain.
They shout joyfully, yes, they sing. (Psalm 65:9–13, NET)
He covers the sky with clouds,
provides the earth with rain,
and causes grass to grow on the hillsides.
He gives food to the animals,
and to the young ravens when they chirp. (Psalm 147:8–9, NET)
Furthermore, when YHWH says in 2 Chronicles 7:13 that He shuts up the sky in judgment this is no different than when God shuts up the sky in Revelation through the two witnesses.
These two have the power to close up the sky so that it does not rain during the time they are prophesying. They have power to turn the waters to blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague whenever they want. (Revelation 11:6, NET)
Please explain why it is fine for God to use the 2 witnesses to shut up the sky in Revelation for judgment, but when it’s YHWH in the OT who you think is a different God it’s suddenly evil. Can you explain that, please?
In Luke 4:24-28, Jesus brings up the time that the skies were shut up for 3 1/2 years during Elijah’s day. He does not condemn this judgment. Instead he brings up how Elijah was sent to the widow of Zarephath. Why?
James brings up the same event and says Elijah was righteous.
So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness. Elijah was a human being like us, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain and there was no rain on the land for three years and six months! Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land sprouted with a harvest. My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person’s soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. (James 5:16–20, NET)
The 45k different denominations thing is often used in a highly misleading way by Muslims. Every non-denom church is counted as its own denomination. Every countries Catholic Church is counted separately even though they all believe the exact same thing.
Many churches with the same core theology are counted as distinct. Churches with the exact same theology are counted as distinct because of geography. The vast majority of the Protestant denominations share the same core beliefs.
Differences are often related to worship styles, baptism, liturgy, etc. Do some have extremely different views on some things? Yes. Are they salvation issues? Probably not in most cases although that is not universal.
Yes, other cultures have flood stories because it is a real historical event that was told throughout the world. And you are right. We should question things.
But none of those things make Anderson’s slander against Jesus true. Have you read the whole NT? If so, surely you have noticed major contradictions between what it says and what Anderson claims, right?
Even the very passages he tries to use testify against him. He claims John 8:55 proves that YHWH is not the Father. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Jesus is saying the very same thing that YHWH said over and over. “My people do not know me.”
Look at Jeremiah 4:22 or the sons of Eli in first Samuel. Eli was the priest at Shiloh and his sons were raised around temple life. But they didn’t know YHWH…much like many of the Pharisees. Head knowledge and loving God with all your heart are two very different things.
I disagree. Anderson’s claims about Jesus being Enki are easily debunked when you study what was written about Enki. Anderson’s claims about what Jesus allegedly says are easily debunked using the text of the Bible.
I wrote a refutation of his “Good Father” videos using the Bible. It’s pinned on my page if you are interested.
The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word, and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Hebrews 1:3
After speaking with some local Aspen attendees, there was another room/presentation. Which I was not in. So I stand corrected in the recent clip put out that this was in Aspen. And that was my entire point in the post, just that this looked like Palm Beach to me.
@IsraelTheSon It is an atheistic form of neo-gnosticism. He thinks Jesus and YHWH are space aliens. He’s running an ancient aliens cult. And it looks like he told his cult members to come here and comment.
@TheRealJamesRea You are biblically illiterate. You are the one who does not understand scripture. Paul said the God of Israel sent Jesus and raised Him from the dead in Acts 13.
Jesus said that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is THE God.
