@dabit3 I am sure cognition is leading to internal acceleration but correlation != causation. This might also be a case of the ones growing faster being able to afford/indulge in the experiment in the first place
When the codex app was released, I was hesitant to switch from claude code. I think I just liked the idea of working out of the terminal and opus 4.8 was quite good at understanding what I wanted to be done.
I would try codex once in a while and slowly started to notice the benefits of the polish of codex and how it fixed some of the issues I was facing when working on remote machines via the terminal. However, I was never able to get gpt 5.5 to just do what I meant without a lot of hand holding.
Now that 5.6 Sol is here, I can (happily) say that I am no longer a claude code user. The current Codex + 5.6 Sol combo is goated

They literally used EDA tools. If your argument is that they were able to do this with open-source EDA tools, I would say the results would have been much better with SOTA (closed) EDA tools. Saying EDA is cooked based on this is like saying Python interpreter is cooked because agents are crazy good at using it!
@thsottiaux Nice updates! The live voice model has been super buggy. Phantom inputs, random outputs not relevant to my question etc. I am hoping it’s just initial hiccups but can’t wait to play with the voice model more!
@PodcastAlphaX@dylan522p@SemiAnalysis_ By that logic, won't the same kinda disruption come from new chinese models in the near future since huawei's ascend seems to be gaining a lot of traction for training?
@swyx i think it should be dollar if you are measuring economic efficiency but still be tokens on the x axis if you are measuring inherent model efficiency (which might only be relevant when looking at how far ahead american labs are etc)
@thsottiaux@justalexoki can we please get the ability to check the codex usage limits left on the ios/ipados app? hate to login to my remote mac just to do this
@JustinBleuel Would love to have the ability to navigate between my prompts in the same chat on the app. The web has it after 5 prompts I think but it would be great to have the option to enable it always, both on the web and the app
@markgurman I think this is slightly misleading. There are certain things that need so much context that you can only give to siri (apple) and not chatgpt. I really hope siri can do those things well because those are not possible (at least yet) with any other app
