Brevard Deputy of the Year Quits After Internal Probe Found Flock Abuse, Gun in Sex Acts, Nazi Salute Photo, Racial Slurs

Michael Fultz, 24, was named the Brevard County Sheriff's Office 2025 Deputy of the Year. Then his ex-girlfriend sent the agency an email. Here is what the internal investigation says happened next, according to records obtained by WKMG News 6.

Investigators found photos of Fultz putting a gun in his girlfriend's mouth and pointing it at the back of her head during sex. He said it was his personal gun. Investigators said it looked like the agency-issued handgun he was given right after he shot and killed a man on duty.

There is a 2023 photo of him with his mustache trimmed like Hitler's, appearing to give a Nazi salute. He admitted posing for it and called it a joke.

He confirmed text messages where he repeatedly used a racial slur.

She gave investigators screenshots of a FaceTime call showing him in uniform, sitting in his patrol car. He denied masturbating on duty and said he was only pretending to.

He ran her license plate through the Flock camera system before his shift. He logged the search as "investigation." He denied spying on her and could not give investigators any reason why he did it. No criminal charge. No criminal investigation mentioned anywhere in the file.

An FHP trooper clocked his motorcycle at 111 mph on US 192 near Melbourne. Florida's new super speeder law makes that a criminal misdemeanor with a mandatory court date. The trooper wrote him a civil ticket for 6 to 9 over instead. He paid $155 and went home.

Melbourne police stopped him twice for hiding his license plate and ticketed him neither time. After his own agency ordered him to keep the tag visible, cameras caught him rolling out of the sheriff's office parking lot with no plate at all.

Sheriff Ivey wrote that the misconduct irreparably damaged the trust required of a deputy. Fultz resigned on May 27 before he could be fired. In a statement, he apologized, said he was young and made poor decisions, and said he does not agree with every conclusion in the report.

Three questions we have. Why was the Flock search never treated as a potential crime. Why did a trooper who knew the criminal threshold was met write a ticket for 6 over. And has this been sent to FDLE, because nothing stops him from being hired at another agency right now.
