ZVERNEC, Albania—Residents of this tiny coastal village were shocked two years ago when Jared Kushner posted renderings of a planned Mediterranean resort on a slim peninsula sandwiched by the azure sea and a lagoon where flamingoes flock.
The images were of a spit of land where their parents and grandparents once raised potatoes. The villagers contended the property was stolen from them in the 2000s by Artur Shehu—a suspected gangster who fled to Miami after a gunfight at his bar.
So they wrote a letter to Kushner saying they were locked in nearly two decades of court disputes with Shehu, urging the developers not to proceed. The site, they wrote, is “owned by the village and its residents.”
Even if Trump is "bluffing," the US may never come back from this. Whether you voted for him or not, the rest of the world sees this guy as our collective will. To everyone else, we are a landmass teeming with viciousness. We have a very high bar to prove that's not true.
NEW: After being accused of climbing into bed with a minor female relative while erect and wearing only his underwear, grabbing her waist and touching her legs to the point where she was "brought to tears," GOP lawmaker Rodney Creech is asking Republicans to send him back for another term in the Ohio House, touting endorsements from the Ohio Republican Party and Preble County Republican Party. First, the Omani FM came out and revealed that there was a deal on the table that met Trump's demands, but that he instead chose war.
And now, it is revealed that the British National Security Advisor was also part of the talks, and he too attests to the fact that A) there was no imminent threat from Iran, B) Trump could have gotten a surprisingly good deal if he stuck to diplomacy.
But the perhaps most damning quote in the story comes at the end, attributed to an unnamed diplomat:
“We regarded Witkoff and Kushner as Israeli assets that dragged a president into a war he wants to get out of.”

Pete Hegseth is the third string football player who never sees the field so he needs to slam the cross country guys into a locker just so everyone knows he’s “tough.”
Dear Christian,
Undocumented immigrants can’t vote. It is a crime that results in prison and/or deportation.
Only 68 instances of this has happened in the last 40 years, by the Heritage Foundation’s own report.
Saying tons of undocumented immigrants are voting is a lie.
The people angry over the Pentagon buying millions of dollars worth of steak and lobster are worried about the wrong thing.
You assume it's for Hegseth and the other assholes in the Pentagon. That is incorrect.
Steak and lobster are often served to troops on the eve of a deployment or before a particularly hazardous mission.
To be fair, it can also be served as just a nice meal on occasion.
But if millions are being spent on steak and lobster, that's a reflection of the deployment-happy mindset of this administration.
You shouldn't be angry that the Pentagon is spending money on steak and lobster.
You should be angry that Hegseth is meagerly offering up steak and lobster as a morale boost to the troops he's been sending into stupid military operations and about to send into another stupid fucking war in the Middle East.
