#CaptainCode ❤️ #OpenShell. Ensure your prompt runs safely! CaptainCode has experimental support for @NVIDIAAI / @Canonical OpenShell. You define the task, permitted files and tests. The worker runs inside a sandbox with policy-controlled file and network access. Tests run in the sandbox, and Captain Code returns a checked patch for review.

💡 Quick example of how this helps. Imagine you want to task your agent with improving a cleanup script on your laptop, and you are worried it might delete the wrong files during its tests. You absolutely want to test that safely in a sandbox!

👉 Just type in CaptainCode: /openshell test and improve scripts/cleanup.py, making sure it only deletes *.md files

⚙️ Captain code will confirm: allowed=scripts/cleanup.py verify=["python3","-m","pytest","tests/test_cleanup.py"] and come back with a verified patch and test results, all from a disposable sandbox.

🔐 Nothing ran on your machine. You review the diff, confirm the tests pass, and apply it only when you are ready.

Today we're open-sourcing #CaptainCode 🚀 🫶

Captain picks the right AI model for each prompt and runs it from one terminal, on your machine. It drives the @claudeai Code, @OpenAI Codex, @xai @grok and @Cursor CLIs you already pay for, and gives you access to the most capable open-weight models through @OpenRouter, @nvidia NIM and @huggingface.

Why we built it? We no longer knew which model to use for what, we were under-using our subscriptions, and we wanted to hand more work to cheaper, capable open models. More than 25% of my prompts go to open-weight models as a result, and counting!

How does Captain work? It leverages the newly released @typesafeai Jev model to triage every task in milliseconds. Then it routes on quality, cost and latency, with the outcome logged locally for iterative improvements. When a model hits its usage limit, it reads the reset time and carries the work, context included, to the next relevant available model. When you type /oss, the task goes to open models only.

I've been quiet these past few months, driven by an unwavering determination to build verifiable finance.  Today, I'm proud to launch Lemma Ventures (@lemma_ventures ) 🎉, my new company based in Zug, Switzerland, in the heart of the Crypto Valley 🌄.

For the past decade, I've led protocol design and large-scale deployments of public blockchains, managing engineering teams of hundreds and releasing amazing products for our ecosystems.

But now I want to address the trust crisis we are in, with what we saw first-hand with Lehman Brothers, FTX, and others. It's imperative that people and institutions keep tight control over their assets, data and processes in a world where finance becomes more automated and digitalized every day.

Lemma Ventures aims to restore trust between people and institutions by enabling provability, replayability, and attestability of financial processes, while guaranteeing we are protected from the quantum computing threat.

Tomorrow, September 1st, we release our first open-source contribution to agentic compliance. I'm excited to build this with you and secure our stacks before they become unmanageable for regulated and critical systems.
