@Devsthetix@muheediva01 taxes go up, the pay for workers go up, the cost for water goes up, the costs for repairs go up, costs for insurance goes up, etc.
@davidaxelrod@Elex_Michaelson@CNN More @cnn nonsense and false narratives. Votes are counted quickly with as much participation in other places. This is not a trade off it is incompetence.
The NYPD Commissioner just revealed something that should concern every New Yorker.
While shootings and some major crimes may be down, assaults on public employees are up 200% over the last six years.
Read that again.
200%.
And she specifically mentioned MTA workers.
Think about that for a second.
If the people operating the buses, trains, and stations aren’t safe, how can we honestly tell the public that the system is safe?
At the same time, New Yorkers are being encouraged to leave their cars at home, pay congestion pricing, and rely more on mass transit.
Fine.
But if we’re going to push people into the transit system, then safety can’t be an afterthought.
This isn’t just about workers.
This is about riders.
This is about families.
This is about whether people feel safe getting to work, getting home, and living their lives.
Because here’s the truth:
You can’t have safe riders with unsafe workers.
What do you think is causing this increase in assaults on public employees?
