I'm exactly the 98 billionth human to be born. If you have a Bluesky and I want to follow you, I'll do so there *and not here* even if you never post there
@cowboy_postbop If Donald Trump did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
As if happens, Donald Trump does not exist.
I think this explains an enormous amount about many a politics-thinker's impression of Donald Trump
@cowboy_postbop Way too much anti-AI stuff feels like "cigarettes don't even induce a sense of stimulation or relaxation, that's pure Big Tobacco propaganda"
@constans Of course, all these people *should* be fired, but my sarcastic character was pretending that or was done for the sake of firing people, good or bad, and not because of their conduct.
I'm now realizing I probably had too many layers in my mind for this, oops.
@constans In sincerity, one reason I'm against "term limits" as demanded by populists (not with SCOTUS, lifetime terms are a different beast) is that they mean pointless churn. Constantly firing Whitw House staff is a similar kind of churn.
@Great_Chumpion@SakethSD@nikicaga The core question is how one reacts to major red flags. That's the mistake, not just a generic "all leftism is red-brownism" from the more braindead of shitlibs.
With, say, Mamdani, there are zero instances of leftists having to say "Okay, but that was one time and he's changed"
@DolphinMossad@_giacomo_volpe_ I despise Platner and the answer to this question is "voting for John Thune (or another Republican) as senate majority leader"
Advancing progressivism isn't done by the raw sum of the personalities of the relevant sides, it's done the same way as football, by gaining yards
@Great_Chumpion@hecubian_devil Conversely, I would not say that Platner's tattoos are a good enough reason to let another country invade and conquer Maine
@ProfBrettWilson@CulRMartin This is a good way of putting it, but I also think Mamdani is a lot likelier than Platner to be comfortable with people thinking he's a dork
@intollefty@Kaylara0wl@maxdubler I mean... yes. Obviously, after he likely wins the nomination, everyone should vote for him. The whole *point* is that, nonetheless, he sucks
@KKriegeBlog@jonathanbfine Yup, if there are two things that conservatives constantly value and everyone else scorns, they would be education and intellectualism
@Gran_Orkhon@whstancil If that's the case then why do so many people in this zone insist they aren't Nazis? Apparently you think there's not even a cultural price to pay for it! You should be ashamed of all your fellows who lack the courage of their convictions
