Trump and his team of Bessent and Lutnick look to close a hopeless gap. Whether we like it or not, America has entered the death spiral. The elimination of USAID will save $260b due to the infighting to maintain many programs. The litigation in support of death spiral spending is extraordinary. Due to The prior Administration’s Yellen
going short term to hide the interest when she should have gone long at 2% rates saddled Americans with a huge increase of interest expense. Trump attempted tariffs that other nations built into their pricing models and hence
did not substantially impact Americans. Under the last administration, we lost 22% purchasing power, the poor 33%. So it’s the poor that ALWAYS suffer more when they are helped. A real shame no one can work together to solve this problem. We shall all pay dearly as we move the chairs on the deck of the Titanic. Probably America will fracture into two nations as the blue states will require a bailout that the red states will oppose. One always hopes for a concerted effort. But the trend is control and obeyance like under Covid in California.
@theallinpod@DavidSacks What about Truflation? Dropped under 2% and oil is dropping. The same for a broader measure of 1/3 of sending with housing. Should discuss on a future show.
No can do. We are a Republic, you are talking about a Democracy.
I pledge allegiance to the flag United States of America and to the “Republic” for which it stands…
Not “Democracy”
The Founding Fathers realized the importance of Republic. Law based governance rather than majority rule. The electoral system gives voices to those who would be silenced. It is the original construct of the United States. We are a nation of compromise, not rule by the few who the masses obey and give gratitude to showering them with gratitude.
The majority in Florida voted in person. In California, at great cost, we all get ballots
in the mail. I choose to vote in person. We all should choose with the mail in an exception for those who are not able to walk into a voting booth. Military overseas or out of state, nursing homes, those in hospitals, disabled and confined. Not much of the population.
@BuzzPatterson california has another month to count votes. By 7/2, Pratt will be #3 and Hilton will be too. Red zones are mostly counted. Able zones not so much.
@DanielK13617598@EricLDaugh I paid $2.69 in Texas and $3.39 in most places except states adversely impacted by California’s decision to import most of its oil. There you go n$6.49 in Cali, $4.69 in Yuma. And much less most other places.
They do pay more. All of the people they employ through their globally best in class pay social security taxes. Pay federal income taxes, pay state income taxes. buy homes etc.
The billionaires pay significant employer social security taxes, worker’s compensation, and much much more.
@khawe@TheChiefNerd There is so much optionality.
Those who have a work ethic will smoke the transition. Those who don’t will have more opportunities in construction and build out.
