@MohammedAlo Thanks for reply. My comment was on food intake (not lipid level) & PREDIMED study as support for oils. The control group was supposed to be low fat but did not achieve that. Yes, other studies do support Mediterranean diet and use of oils, but not that one IMO.
It's fantastic that it has been so well received. Thanks to you, my supervisors and co-authors (@MarkLawrence_Oz, @PhilBakerNZ, Priscila Machado) for your ongoing support.
Thanks for sending, Marit. I have been offline the past week, and this milestone nearly passed me by!
Supplementation with Vitamin D or calcium, or both does not help prevent fractures or falls. From a new systematic review of 69 randomized trials and >150,000 participants
Note that Table A14 (page 58) shows a high % of products that contain UPF markers do NOT meet FDA ‘healthy’ definition [ie UPF breads 77%, ready-to-eat cereals 74%, and yoghurts 84%] dispelling the myth that regulations to limit UPF would risk limiting healthy food.
Healthy Eating Research released new recommendations to help policymakers address UPFs in the U.S. Developed by a diverse expert panel, they provide practical criteria to identify UPFs for policy purposes and policy options to reduce their consumption. https://t.co/Jch7Xu3phB
Retraction—Today, we retract an unsigned 1977 commentary suggesting talc powder containing asbestos was not harmful. The Lancet was informed that the author had undisclosed competing interests and breached publication ethics. /4
I've spent decades watching people limit themselves, not because their bodies failed them, but because they believed their bodies were fragile.
So I built something different. A modular training library for people who want to stay capable, resilient, and independent as they age.
Here's what's in it 🧵

Big update in exercise science: ACSM has revised its resistance training Position Stand for the first time since 2009. That is a 17-year gap, and a lot has changed. 🧵https://t.co/Vk3yQj3Rmp
The Lancet Series on #UPFs and Human Health is live!! 🔥
Across three papers we examine the science, policy and political dimensions of this major global health challenge - and what to do about it.

@MaritKolby Congratulations on this comprehensive paper. That adverse health outcomes associated with UPFs goes beyond diseases related to overconsumption of energy (such as overweight and obesity) is a critical factor often overlooked in UPF discussions.
Keep up with this great work!
"We need to get up from under our desks and persuade our fellow citizens that the institutions that they have helped create with their tax dollars are incredibly precious and important." There is no #MAHA if we don't @SecKennedy@SenBillCassidy .

Agreed. Instead of saying ‘protein’, we should be saying ‘meat, poultry, fish, seafood, eggs, milk, legumes, nuts, and seeds’. And we can even include whole cereals, potatoes and vegetables which contribute to protein intake.
The are many anecdotes for #ChatGPT helping patients. But here's one with fallacious A.I. guidance that resulted in serious complications

@gourmetmetrics Food can contain hidden additives. eg
Processing aids such as enzymes can cleave starch in ‘flour’ into sugars. The sugars are not listed, only the flour.
‘Cultured wheat’ is a fermented product. The natural propionate produced (that acts as a mould inhibitor) is not listed.
