@EdwardJDavey It's reassuring that you don't have to worry about your safety all the time. It's great that Nigel has the funds for the protection he needs. PS I'm still voting Reform whenever I can.
@Mullers1993@Conservatives For many years, I proudly cast my vote for the Conservatives. But after everything that's happened, I can confidently say: Never again!
@RachelReevesMP Cutting 3.7p off red diesel is a drop in the ocean compared to the 20% surge in fertiliser, feed, and energy costs over the last year alone. Plus, sunsetting this cut in December gives farmers zero long-term security. The math doesn't add up to real relief.
@AndyBurnhamGM "King of the North" but he has to drag Steve Coogan around Makerfield doorsteps because he's panicking over a poster war. Absolutely painful watching a multi-millionaire celebrity get blanked by locals who didn't even know who he was. Pure luvvie behaviour. ๐๐คฆโโ๏ธ
@jamesmurray_ldn The staggered 6.6% hike just kicks the bill into next year's budget to avoid this year's cap. Itโs a classic political shell game. Taxpayers still foot the bill for the long-term compounding costs, theyโre just trying to hide the immediate financial hit.
@_HenryBolton@GoodwinMJ The Tories lost 244 seats because people were completely done with them, not just because of Reform. Turnout crashed to 59.7%, the lowest since 2001, because millions simply didn't bother to vote. Even if the Tories won Reform's 5 seats, they still lose. They earned that defeat.
@DrChrisParry@metpoliceuk Kingdom Services Group, a private environmental enforcement firm frequently contracted by local UK councils to issue fixed penalty notices for littering and fly-tipping.
@bphillipsonMP@ITVNewsPolitics Same data shows low-income white girlsโ GCSE passes dropped 6.4% since 2019. Only 38% pass now. Scrap the spin, the leaked McFadden texts prove your backbenchers just want to tax workers to fund benefits. Free breakfasts don't fix a stagnant economy or lost industrial jobs.
@civilizationHub@b_daddy_cruiser@GBNEWS This isn't fraud, it's a legal loophole. Anyone can buy a ticket, but laws stop cash payouts on big wins to prevent money laundering. Winners must have a local bank account to get paid. He couldn't open one without legal papers, but the court gave him residency so he could.
@StephenMorganMP@DefraGovUK "Thrive"? Your government didn't help farmers thrive; the family farm tax crippled them. Telling the sector you'll make it "profitable" after slashing their margins and upending multi-generational businesses is an insult. Actions speak louder than corporate press releases.
@Keir_Starmer "On behalf of the nation"? Speak for yourself. The nation is a diverse mix of people, not a monolith you get to summarise in a press release. You don't speak for me, and you certainly don't represent my views. Try listening to the public instead of assuming you own our voice.
@jamesmurray_ldn "Change of gear" means massaging stats. You paid ยฃ19m (ยฃ33/head) to scrub 500k+ people off waiting lists. Dropping sick patients who never even received a letter isnโt "better care", itโs a data fudge while local surgeries shut and 16k excess deaths happen. Reality > paper.
@patmcfaddenmp You can't subsidise jobs you're actively killing with tax hikes. Pubs/retail are shutting down weekly because NICs & wage costs make entry-level staff unaffordable. Forcing youth into hubs for non-existent roles under threat of sanctions isnโt a plan, it's a fantasy.
@russellquirk@RafHM@kane_blackwell Itโs been a fun week indeed, youโve done a great job filling in. Shame itโs the last one, but Iโll definitely be tuning in tomorrow. All the best for the show!
@SKinnock Under the current NHS contract, funding only covers roughly 50% of the population, leading to over 13 million people with unmet dental needs. No matter the spin, a dental school place takes 5 years to train a dentist. Patients need funding and contract reform today, not in 2031.
