@jordanhenderson It's my family history and family photo sites, the bots crawl the family tree and photo metadata. I want them to be searchable, I just don't want them hammered so hard that my cheap webhost gets mad at me for using too much processor and bandwidth. It's insane.
Welp, that happened faster than I predicted. Thought it would be end of 2027, then early 2027, but agentic traffic growing so fast that bots have now passed human traffic online for the first time in the Internet's history. https://t.co/2zX5bHdhsa
@jordanhenderson My low volume hobby websites are going down ALL THE TIME now - and I moved everything to Cloudflare and set it to stop the bots, works for a while, then there's a week or so of constant up/down notifications while the bots scrape my website data. I hate it.
So...Amazon owns Stargate and will do whatever they will do - but Martin and @BaronDestructo got the band back together and wrote some stories. They should create a new show. "From the Geniuses who brought you Stargate, comes a new adventure..."
Amazon cancelled the new Stargate show.
The rumor is that the show writer, Martin Gero, would not budge on compromising lore or elements within the show for a "wider modern audience" as they did with Rings of Power for LoTR lore.
Martin Gero wanted to create a show that maintained continuity in the story and lore of the old shows, including the mythology and tech, while respecting the 17 seasons of history.
Amazon instead wanted something new for the "modern audience" that's more accessible, reimagined, with more modern casual sensibilities.
Because the showrunners wanted to maintain integrity rather than turn Stargate into another "modern audience slop" like Rings of Power, Amazon leadership canceled it. The franchise heavyweight, like Joseph Mallozzi, was very excited for the fresh stories Gero worked on. Amazon says they are still open to Stargate, just not "this" version... yes they wanted to Rings of Powerify Stargate.
We really can't hate these people enough.
Islam is an anti-human ideology of hate that too often gets treated with the respectability of a religion.
If the West is to survive, Islam must be expelled to the last mosque and Muslim.
The social experiment has failed.
The problem here is that around the world, watchdog organizations decry delayed announcing of results and drawn out counting.
34 of 47 European nations ban mail-in voting and so do Mexico, Russia, Israel, and Japan, for starters.
It’s not because they’re racists or suppressing the vote. It’s because mail in voting is the single biggest vector of election fraud ever known to man and is proven so over and over again. They even tried to steal the 1864 election with mail in voting.
The public has every reason to distrust California’s election system even if what Brick Suit is saying were true and not one bad ballot was counted.
If they wanted to run speedy and transparent elections, they could.
They don’t. Figure that out.
@glennbeck Elected congresspersons are granted clearance automatically. Can't have executive branch overriding the will of the people. It was assumed that voters should be trusted. Maybe time to rethink that a bit
@GOPoversight Please provide more detail, we have learned not to assume or trust.
Is account LOCKED with only Cabinet-level override so that no one can send them taxpayer dollars anymore, even by accident?
Is there an effort to claw back funds sent?
Gov. Greg Abbott has labeled CAIR a terrorist-linked group—now that same organization is backing Letitia Plummer for one of the most powerful jobs in Texas, Harris County judge.

We really need to COMPLETELY BAN mail-in voting. It’s such an absolute mockery of the whole exercise and will completely destroy the already vanishing trust people have in elections. It’s a laughable covid-era scam and it needs to stop forever.
Went to vote today for the California primaries
The guy next to me called over an election worker because his ballot didn't include the LA mayoral race
The worker checked and told him it was because his registered address was in Malibu, which is outside the City of LA
The guy then asked if he could provide another address
To my surprise, the answer was yes
So he gave the worker an LA address, they voided his previous ballot, issued a new one, and suddenly he was able to vote for the mayor of LA
How is voter ID not mandatory in all 50 states?
@shipwreckedcrew And then Nithya will drop out to spend time with her family, saving LA the much needed money and letting them move on with healing or whatever.
@ArdRhi@BaronDestructo Part of it is nostalgia for SciFi Fridays, and the days of watching DVDs with the commentary and learning how much you love the folks involved. It was a better time! I was younger then, too, which was awesome.
This sucks. Makes me very very sad. I pay no attention to the excuse stated here, it makes no sense. Amazon does what they want to do, didn't want to do Stargate.
Martin would have made an amazing show! And with @BaronDestructo on board as well, I was a fan already. Sad day.
EXCLUSIVE: The new "Stargate" TV series has been axed at Amazon.
The show was first announced with a series order in November 2025 and hailed from showrunner Martin Gero, who was a writer on "Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate: Atlantis." Sources say Amazon execs were concerned that Gero's take on the series would not have broad appeal beyond the franchise's already dedicated fanbase.

This was likely the only way Pelley could get out of his contract without 60 minutes charging damages. It improves his brand and negotiating position with whoever his agent is courting. This was a performance. All a dishonest performance.
At CBS' expense.
CBS has fired “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley, and rightly so. He betrayed journalistic principles in platforming debunked science, in being closed-minded and dogmatic, and in behaving like a pompous ass. Good riddance.
So let me look at it through it this lens:
Previous Secretaries of Defense just rubber stamped the list and that is the Expectation, just need an empty suit to sign what "they" tell him to sign.
But @SecWar Pete Hegseth is actually doing his job and scrutinizing the list for exactly what he has publicly stated over and over??
This is what we are up in arms about, our civilian leadership doing their job??
Make this make sense!!
A new series made by people who knew, made, and LOVED the original. It would have been lovely, would have brought in a whole new batch of fans. I'm very sad.
Sadly, it's true. Amazon has elected not to move forward with the new Stargate series.
There's not much I can add beyond confirming what's happened. But I will say this...
Creator Martin Gero developed a new Stargate series over two years, ultimately crafting a show that offered a fresh jumping-on point for new viewers while deeply respecting existing canon. It was a series that avoided the pitfalls of several modern remakes and reboots by fully embracing the core of its predecessors: action, adventure, exploration, wonder, heart, humor, and found family. And based on that creative vision, the new Stargate series was greenlit in November of 2025.
As of today, officially, that original vision is no more. We'll never get the opportunity to introduce you to that world and those characters - or reintroduce you to, and check in with, some familiar faces from the past.
My heart breaks. For the incredibly talented writers who worked tirelessly to bring this show to life. For Martin who maintained an unwavering positive outlook throughout despite the challenges, and who always strove to make a show that would honor the fans while welcoming a new audiences. And for the long-suffering Stargate fandom who waited so long and came so close to getting a show they truly would have loved.
@KennethRWebster Every time I hear the political folks give the reflexive "Cornyn is a nice person, a good man" I have to object. He is not. He has long PRETENDED to be. But he is not, never was, never will be. Not in the ways that matter.
