@raisedadust@PhysInHistory George Berkeley is a great example of the idea that physical reality relies upon observation. “Three Dialogues Between Hylas and Philonous” is another one of his works that lays out that idea nicely.
This is an excellent debate and one which contains many interesting ideas. I lean towards the side that the laws of physics exist only because of the conscious observer, and would recommend Robert Lanza’s “Biocentrism” (2009) for any interested in further reading on the topic.
