The resignation of @NBirenSingh at this juncture, as CM of Manipur, is neither a significant nor a timely intervention by the centre. His misrule had torn Manipur apart for the past 21 months. Also, his involvement in #ManipurViolence, coutesy the leaked audio tapes, is still under SC probe. In any case, he would have been outsted in a no-confidence motion in the assembly session scheduled to start today, had he not resigned. In contrast, his re-assignment as caretaker until the formation of a new Government, gives him a new life-line to his already cancered political health.
