Meet Sarki Abba from Kano State, the genius that was made to rewrite WASCE after scoring 9 distinctions In 1984, 16-year old Abba, a student of Science Secondary School Dawakin Tofa, scored 9 distinctions (8 A1 and 1 A2) in his West African Senior School Certificate (WASCE) Exams. Examination authorities in Lagos didn't believe Abba made those excellent scores without cheating. The authorities provided a car that took Abba to Lagos in order to retake the exam. Abba was made to take the 9 exams in a duration of 3 days, under heavy supervision. After marking the rescheduled exams, he scored 9 A1 (the only ‘A2’ he had in English Language before the retake, became ‘A1’ resulted to 9 A1) Faced with shock, the authorities apologized and instituted the National Merit Award. And, rightfully, Sarki Abba was the first recipient of the award. In 1989/90 school session, 21, Sarki Abba graduated as OVERALL BEST Medical Student, and OVERALL BEST Graduating Student at ABU, Zaria— he was just 21.

One of the things I know is that Otunba Michael Adenuga Jnr. is a very private person, and you have to be extremely important and loved to take him away from his comfort zone. He is one of the biggest philanthropists this continent has ever known, maybe second to only Aare MKO Abiola (late).

Yesterday, he stepped out in his glory to join HRM, The Awujale of Ijebu, to welcome home a son who understands the place of our traditions and culture. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, president of the most populous black nation on the face of the Earth, Nigeria, heeded the call of the royal father and truly made the homecoming extremely grand.

Asiwaju must have felt really honoured to have the presence of a worthy brother at his august visit. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu displayed an uncommon character and show of love at his lunch reception when he welcomed and recognised Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. His statement echoes in mind, "I am happy to see Ambode. Thanks Akin". Thereafter, a picture of a thousand words was taken that symbolises the ingenuity of ASIWAJU's good succession plans. Three former governors, a governor and president in a picture.

Lastly, Asiwaju maintained his stance on why fuel subsidies had to go. He empathised with Nigerians as plans are being drafted by the necessary organisations and the government to ameliorate the sufferings of Nigeria. He said he could have enriched himself with the different exchange rates but chose not to do it. I believe strongly in his plans to make Nigeria better.

May Nigeria succeed and the people rejoice. Amen.
