Countrycare Team @eppingforestdc were on Roughtalley's Wood at North Weald Bassett today, hosting a children's Christmas Treasure Hunt. We even saw the Epping Ongar train. After solving riddles, everyone got a bag of treats π Merry Christmas to everyone and see you in 2025 π

We were at Home Mead Local Nature Reserve for our #Volunteer task. Clearing ditches, doing some hedge laying, and creating a new boggy area with ditches and ponds, this is long term project so watch this space for more updates! #amphibian#wildlife#marshes π

A new interpretation panel on Abbotts Wood in Waltham Abbey has gone in @eppingforestdc@EFDMuseum Schools and youth groups have been using the site to explore their local open space, so we thought it would be nice to let them know what they could find! #Explore π³ππ¦
Tree diseases can spread via the sawdust on your chainsaw. Make sure you clean your chainsaw thoroughly between each site visit.
If you have, or suspect, a harmful tree pest or disease in your woodland, clean your chainsaw between each tree that you work on.

Our education officers have taking local school pupils on a History and Wellbeing walk around Abbots Wood in Waltham Abbey. Children loved finding out about the special history of their area and enjoyed learning outside.
