The @harmonic_ai Hot 25 Startups list for Q3 just dropped, featuring a number of Lightspeed portfolio companies.
Congratulations to the teams at @resolveai, @dualentry, @raindrop_ai, @sandstonehq, @RicursiveAI!
The Harmonic Hot 25 Startups list highlights notable startups that are causing a buzz, based on aggregated investor interest from thousands of VCs.
Making this list is a notable accomplishment. We’re excited to back companies like these that are constantly working to innovate and build on their momentum.
AI is moving too fast for people to keep up.
So we’re building something new.
Lightwork is our weekly show on AI, tech, and funding, hosted by @clairejyz and @Machiz.
Thank you @MollySOShea and @sourceryy for the first look at what we’re building.
I've been extremely bearish on LegalTech, until I met the Sandstone team. Excited to double down on their $30M Series A along with @lightspeedvp and @mantisVC.
We’re excited to announce that we led @sandstonehq’s $30M Series A.
In-house legal teams stand to benefit significantly from AI support.
We believe Sandstone understands the lack of resources that can be provided to those teams.
The AI platform, founded by @nifleisher, @liamail, and @cc_jarryd, was built to streamline procedures and expand capacity. Sandstone can run intake, triage, execution, fulfillment, and measurement of legal work, using tools already in practice.
This founding team deeply understands the in-house legal problem and has the software background to build a solution. With this unique knowledge, we believe they are positioned to redefine the legal landscape, one case at a time.

50% of personal claude and codex tokens have been used to build a tax / wealth management / net worth application and the other 50% have been used to try and create a home automation application. I'm only off by +/- 5%. Pretty sure.
A real story from our Series B process with @sequoia last year.
@dbabbs and I were invited to Menlo Park to pitch the Monday partner meeting. The whole partnership was there, probably 15+ people. Needless to say, it was nerve-wracking.
Before we went in, @Alfred_Lin asked if I needed anything.
While it felt slightly absurd asking one of the most iconic investors in the world for a coffee, I needed the caffeine.
A few minutes later, Alfred came back with the coffee himself.
No assistant, no asking someone else. He just went and made it.
Is obviously a tiny thing, but it stuck with me. From my POV, tiny acts like this is why @sequoia is the best in the world 🐐
You like Zed Industries? Their early work (Atom) was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Zed came out in ’21, I think they really came into their own, technically and artistically. The whole GPUI layer has a clear, crisp execution, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the product a big boost. They’ve been compared to VS Code forks, but I think Zed has a far more low-level, GPU-driven approach.
