Something doesn’t add up. Literally. If Starmer & Reeves were genuinely concerned about a ‘black hole’ in the nation’s finances & that’s why they’re introducing inheritance tax on family farms & scrapping pensioners’ winter fuel allowance then why didn’t they welcome Trump saying he would end the Ukraine/Russia war on taking office? Starmer has pledged £3bn a year to Ukraine ‘for as long as it takes’ so surely if it was all about the UK public finances then he would welcome the end of the war? But in fact his govt supports escalation & seems horrified that Trump may deliver peace. Showing that concern for the UK’s public finances is NOT Starmer & Reeves’ priority.
