like many others I've also recently jumped ship to BlueSky, so if anyone here is also making the leap - feel free to stay in touch! 🐾

What Sheep Think About the Weather: Hearing What Animals Say
Amelia Thomas' new book is a "call to listen" to what other animals are trying to tell us in a world increasingly clogged with human noise and its accompanying polarizing opinions.

Everyone who registered before 10 Sept should have received AIP2025 join instructions (via Eventbrite). Reminders 1 hr before the start of day 1 and day 2.
Unless we reach capacity (likely!) we will continue issuing tickets until start of Day 2.

This lovely vegan business (& loyal supporter of FARS) *Annie's Vegan Treats* is struggling at the moment 😔
If anyone would like to buy some sweet treats for themselves or as a gift, or share this with others, it'd help them immensely 🧁🍪🍫🙏🌱

London’s O2 Arena went plant-based for all six of Billie Eilish’s performances at the venue this week.
The 20,000 capacity venue adopted an entirely plant-based menu at Eilish’s request, just like it did back in 2022 for her Happier Than Ever tour.

Can you even imagine the heat? The smell? These are animals with feelings, living souls, the humans who enabled this are wicked and heartless. Fuck you.
Horses are forced to run in this heat bc their welfare is only considered so they can be kept functioning optimally in order to be used as tools in the betting industry
There’ve now been 3035 British on-course thoroughbred deaths in 6676 days (when Race Horse Death Watch began)
🧡 This photo hits hard today…
This was Patrick a young man I got to know through my outreaching work on the streets for the homeless.
In this photo, that’s Mr. G, his loyal dog, keeping watch while Patrick slept rough — as he had done for so many years.
So many services tried to help him, but the life of the streets had gripped him too tightly. When you live out here long enough, it gets into your bones… it becomes your world. And for Patrick, that world always included his dogs ,his reason to keep going, his family.
Later on, Jazz came into his life — another beautiful soul. When Patrick passed away recently on the streets, it was Jazz who sat quietly by his side, refusing to leave him. That kind of loyalty can’t be taught — it’s love in its purest form.
We brought Jazz into foster care. She was already 17, and though we gave her warmth, love, and all the care we could, her heart had already started to fade. She is now back with Patrick, where she longed to be in heaven 🧡
Patrick was one of the first people I ever supported — way before Dogs on the Streets even began. I used to walk the streets alone, suitcase in hand, handing out dog food, leads, collars, coats , just trying to help where I could.
Addiction. Trauma. Homelessness. These are not simple things you can fix with a bed or a leaflet. The streets take hold — and sometimes love and loyalty are all a person has left. That’s why I do this work. That’s why I will always do this work.
For Patrick. For Jazz. For every soul still out there. You are not forgotten. 🧡🐾

There’s a very powerful myth that poor people can’t afford to care about the planet. I hear it all the time, indoctrinated in the minds of environmentalists.
The truth is completely the opposite. I see it everywhere I travel and sociologists have demonstrated it again and again.
When we treat and heal injured wildlife, we’re not just saving a single life — we’re preserving a bloodline, a habitat, a future. For every creature we care for, we carry hope forward. Join us and be the hope giver on World Environment Day 💚 🦡 🌳 🦅 🦊 🦔
I was deeply moved from hearing and reading the stories of slaughterhouse workers' struggles with PTSD and other mental health challenges. I think you will be too: https://t.co/zcZFtutMGo
After three years of taking a ridiculous amount of diversions via the @theUL hoping to bump into him, last week I finally met Odysseus 😭🐈
I’m choosing to interpret this as a good omen for my exams…
Wales has committed to ending greyhound racing. Scotland is considering it. So why is England still green-lighting greyhound deaths every weekend?

How despicable is this!!! North Wales some people are deliberately throwing food into the road for starving seagulls then running them over. Sickening. The gulls are trying to feed their chicks. 😭 #seagulls#protectedbirds
