Can any of you lovely people who are in the Cornwall area please look out for this little dog. My friends are on holiday and he's run off
Please retweet and see if we can get him home
A "dove release" at a wedding or funeral is a death sentence for the birds.
The white "doves" sold for releases aren't doves. They're domestic white pigeons bred to be small and pretty, with no survival skills outside a coop.
The cheaper DIY versions (Ringneck Doves, King Pigeons) can't even find their way home. Nearly all of them die within days.
Even professional releases with trained homing pigeons lose birds every time. Hawks take them in the air. Cars hit them when they land exhausted. They collide with windows. There are lots of ways it can go sideways for them.
Rehabbers pull them in with broken wings, raging trichomoniasis, and bodies so emaciated they can't stand. One described a release pigeon whose throat infection had hardened so completely it distorted the shape of his skull.
There is no version of this where the birds "fly away and live happily ever after." That's the marketing. The reality is a domestic animal traumatized or killed for a 15-second photo.
One of these bunnies has a very natural shaped head, pointy ears, has no dental, eye or ear problems.
The other suffers from severe dental problems , eye infections and ear infections.
Both bunnies have the same number of teeth. But only one has space for those teeth.
Just because some people think it’s “cute”
How can a life of pain and suffering ever be “cute”
1000s of bunnies suffer (and other animals) because humans thought it looked cute.
Only a few people will read this post and truly understand how grotesque the practice of selective breeding actually is.
We live in a world now where if you have an idea, a goal, a good bunch of people and a smart phone you can pretty much do whatever you want.
What’s difficult is that unless you have 1,000,000+ social media followers or you’ve been on Love Island it’s hard to get people’s attention. What I have however, that gives me a huge advantage is a solid team of good people around me with the same mindset, the same values and the same drive as me, so rather than complain about how unfair the world can be we just decide what we want, create a plan and execute.
Right now we’re filming a documentary about my life (well, parts of it) because despite any negative feedback we’ve had we believe it can do well and help people.
If you’d like to support us on this project I’d appreciate it if you could share this amongst your network or help us cover costs and expenses through our GoFundMe 🙏🏻
We still don’t know if this will get picked up by a broadcaster or if we’re going to put it on YouTube but it doesn’t matter because we’re doing it anyway 😎

Twenty years ago I was reunited with my two stolen dogs, Widget and Gizmo 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾.
After a traumatic 10 days I was reunited with my dogs because I had a famous father, Sir Bruce Forsyth. We were able to get national newspapers and TV attention. After our first live appearance on GMTV, appealing for help, a man called in saying he thought he had bought Wigdet at a livestock market in Southall, DogLost organised an animal warden to check the dog’s microchip number and it was Widget! The next day we did another appeal to find Gizmo and luckily enough a lady phoned up to say she had bought a dog of a man in Hayes Park, who looked like Gizmo. The animal warden went out again and it was Gizmo. If it hadn’t been for my father I don’t believe I would ever had got them back!
This was back in May 2006.
Twenty years ago, my family and I thought we could help other pet owners with missing/stolen dogs and started the Vets Get Scanning campaign.
I thought it was a simple fix 🤦🏼♀️
Dog Theft was a new phenomenon, I remember telling people in the pet industry that my dogs were stolen, only for them to laugh saying dogs aren’t stolen - they run off and get lost 😡.
Because I had experienced the complete cycle of car window being smashed and the dogs being sold on to unsuspecting new families, I could see there was a possible route to help others who were suffering the devastation that my family and I had just experienced.
Microchips were fairly new back then, mainly being used for the pet passport scheme, which is why our boys were chipped. I wondered if the veterinary profession thought that they could help reunite dogs that had been sold on by checking microchip registration at pets first treatment? There were only 2 microchip databases back then!
Today we have a fragmented microchip system with 25 independent databases in competition with each other, with incompatible logins and no joined-up access. Authorised users searching for a chip match, find the database and then the problems begin with most databases working 9-5 Monday to Friday, some databases have none GDPR call centres who can only take messages, some databases still relying on phone messaging or emails, the person with your lost dog or cat can wait days or even a week for a response from them. Animals go unidentified. Owners go without answers.
With the #PetTheftReform campaign highlighting the microchip problems the Government’s Pet Theft Taskforce recommended a Central microchip Portal, at last a solution to a growing problem.
DEFRA picked up the mantle and announced in March 2024 the fix with their Central Microchip Portal the single, publicly accountable system linking all 25 UK-compliant databases with one login for vets, wardens and police, providing instant 24/7 access to all microchip records, saving time and ensuring rapid reunifications.
Why was it dropped?
Still petitioning, still trying to get microchips reuniting missing pets!

We as a community want to purchase Penrhos nature reserve and save it from this horrific monstrosity of a holiday camp plan

Good grief, this horrendous: a large warehousing scheme which would uproot more than 10,000 trees is set to get approval. The three new warehouses in Carrington, Trafford, would destroy habitats for birds, bats, hedgehogs and amphibians.

There is still fishing in unpermitted areas in Sefton Park, next to the wildlife island.
The 6 day old cygnet has not been seen for 2 days & we are concerned.
Please report any fishing past the lake barrier to park security 0151 351 1999 or to Merseyside Police.
Pls RT
This was the last text I ever received from my 34 year old Son, Edward. It was exactly a year ago today.
Within hours he was gone. He decided he wasn't "OK" and he took his own life just after midnight.
He was fighting on many fronts- Relationship problems, financial worry and issues with self esteem.
I think about him 100 times a day. I'd do anything to get him back, even if it was just for 5 minutes.
I'd say all the things to him that I didn't say when I had the opportunity. It's too late now.
Please take care of your loved ones. Watch over them. Many are struggling. Many are thinking dark thoughts. Many will take the decision to end their own suffering.
They need help and understanding. They probably won't get it from the "system" so it may be up to you.
Give someone a call today to ask how they're doing. Tell them Edward suggested it.

Below, Pippin, due to be killed in a council pound Thursday 14 May 💔💔💔
I honestly cannot even begin to explain what my day-to-day life looks like right now.
Everything feels overwhelming. Every single day I worry about my mental health, but I keep going because I have no choice.
I’m sitting beside my mum in the hospice watching her cling onto life in a way I’ve never witnessed before.
One hand is holding hers while the other is tapping away at a computer trying to sort accounts, raise funds, answer messages, and somehow keep Dogs on the Streets going.
Then I come home and it doesn’t stop.
I have to support my family, my children, the charity , 24/7.
The phone never stops ringing. Today alone we’ve had countless desperate calls from people terrified of losing their dogs, people struggling mentally, people talking about suicide, people with nowhere else to turn.
And I get it.
Because these dogs are their family. Their reason to keep going.
I’m trying my absolute best, and so is my team, but the truth is I go to bed most nights sobbing my heart out from exhaustion, grief, pressure, and heartbreak.
When I get the odd couple of minutes to myself, I just sit there thinking… who even am I in all this?
Where do I belong? It’s a very difficult time for me personally and for the charity.
We are not some huge glossy charity with TV adverts, massive wages, PR teams, and £150,000 CEOs. I take absolutely zero pay from Dogs on the Streets. Everything goes back into helping people and their dogs stay together.
But I’m human.
I’m grieving. I’m exhausted. I’m trying to hold everything together while holding my mum’s hand in a hospice.
So if our social media feels all over the place right now, I’m sorry. I genuinely don’t know what else to do except keep going minute by minute.
But please know this , every donation, every share, every kind message, every person standing beside us right now genuinely matters more than you could ever know.
Thank you for standing by Dogs on the Streets.
We will keep fighting for these dogs and the people who love them, no matter how hard things get.

Here's a question worth sitting with this week - Where have you been negotiating with yourself?
You know the drill. "I'll do it tomorrow." "I'll get back on track next week." "I'll start properly when things settle down."
Nothing settles. Life doesn't slow down for you to catch up.
I spent years learning that the hard way. When you've had to rebuild your life from the ground up - physically, mentally, every single day - you realise quickly that waiting for motivation is a strategy that doesn't work.
Discipline does.
Not because it's easy. But because it removes the debate. You said you'd do it. So you do it. No negotiation.
Spring is a checkpoint, not a fresh start. It's a moment to stop, be honest, and ask whether you're actually moving forward or just feeling like you are.
Every month in my newsletter I break this stuff down - practical mindset tools, no fluff, no filler. The kind of content that makes you think and then actually do something differently.

I ran for Scottish Parliament dressed as a giant Gannet bird to raise awareness to end the Guga hunt. 4 week campaign to get as much publicity as possible.
And it’s worked! Footage on prime time BBC and ITV evening news, and dozens more interviews.
If you’re new here, I’m Mark 👋
I’m a former Royal Marines Commando, the UK’s first triple amputee survivor from the war in Afghanistan, a world record holder, speaker, husband, dad… and someone who’s spent a lot of time rebuilding life from rock bottom 🦾
This page is not about looking for sympathy. It’s about mindset, resilience, discipline, (often dark, military) humour, purpose, and pushing beyond the limits people put on you - and the ones you put on yourself.
Some days that looks like training hard. Other days it’s about having honest conversations about mental health, failure, or starting over.
But the mission always remains the same: keep moving forward. 1% at a time.
Glad to have you here 👊
