Pillu, a stray dog, was living in a busy street, where he was often neglected and left without access to nutritious and balanced meals. But fate had other plans for Pillu. Mohan, a kind and compassionate person, noticed the poor dog and quickly rushed to his aid. But Mohan knew that Pillu needed more than just medical treatment to truly thrive. He decided to adopt Pillu and give him a permanent home. He took the dog to his own house, where he was welcomed with open arms by his family and friends.
Pillu was overjoyed at being rescued and given a new home. He would often sleep on the bed, curled up in a ball of fluff, and would dream of all the adventures he would go on. He would wake up in the morning and greet Mohan with wagging tail and lick of love, and would spend the day exploring his new surroundings and playing with his new family.
Thanks to Mohan's kindness and compassion, Pillu's life had taken a complete turn. He was no longer a stray dog living in the streets, but a beloved member of the family. He was fed nutritious meals, given a warm bed to sleep in, and was showered with love and attention. Pillu's story is a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of giving a home to those in need. It's a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a huge impact on someone's life, and that we all have the ability to make a difference.

Greater Chennai Corporation has counted and vaccinated 250 dogs on Day 1 of dog census in ward 49 Royapuram that covers South Mada Chuch Road, Kalmandapam, and Anglo Indian colonies.

28 dog catchers were involved in the drive which began at 4 pm today evening. GCC will focus on three wards, including ward 50 and 51 for next five days with a daily target of counting and vaccinating 900 dogs .

Whole census for 15 zones will be completed in 121 days.

GCC commissioner Dr J Radhakrishnan vaccinates a dog and sprays vegetable dye on it for identification. Photo proofs and records of all dogs saved for future identification.

Anti rabies vaccination and Ivermectin (Endectoparasiticide) were given for the dogs.

GCC commissioner Dr J Radhakrishnan urges people not to throw stones or hurt stray dogs.

After inspecting an isolated mother-dog with puppies, which had bitten a few people in #Vyasarpadi, the commissioner said the dog had no symptoms of rabies nor showed any aggression. “It’s calm here but when we go near it, it grunts. People must understand animals too have anxiety, especially when they have puppies, and should not hurt them,” he said.

He said as per ABC rules, dogs taken for sterilisation have to be dropped back at the same spot and cannot be relocated. “We are discussing with experts for a permanent solution to handle dogs that are biting,” he said.

Many sincere condolences to the Desai family, but what caused the Executive Director's demise needs to be investigated and such sensationalism by media outlets needs to be checked.

It is rather unbecoming of media outlets such as @ahmedabadmirror to indulge in such sensationalism by peddling unverified news articles such as these.

Where are these reports coming from? Has any CCTV camera footage been accessed? Has possible foul play by humans been ruled out? Who has reported this incident to the press?

The hospital has issued a release stating that there was no dog bite.

I've personally seen the ambulances donated by the Wagh Bakri group to the Jeevdaya Shelter in Ahmedabad. It is unlikely that an avid animal sympathizer would get startled by the dogs outside his own house.

1. First they said they didn't know about the bite because the child didn't tell them about the bite.

2. Now the story has changed. The dog in question is reportedly still alive.

3. The health officer who said rabies was suspected has confessed on record that he didn't meet the boy.

4. No post mortem was conducted as far as I'm aware.

5. This is a travesty of an investigation. Something doesn't quite add up with all these new versions coming up.

It's never a good thing for an animal rights' issue to get politicized, but when it does, I urge everyone to do the following:

Stick to your morals - to what is right in your heart/mind.

Choose compassion.

Choose love.

They feel just as much as we do, if not more. They are not able to tell anyone about what they go through.

Let's be sympathetic, let's be kind. Let's stand up for what's right. Let's be the voices for those that's cannot speak.

This might be a very "If not me, then who? If not now then when?" kind of moment that affects the lives of thousands of dogs that can exist peacefully with us if we only eliminate corruption from the Animal Birth Control System by implementing the provisions of the Animal Birth Control Rules, 2023 strictly in each district of this country and see what happens in 5 years.

Let's give these new Rules a chance. Let's start implementing them. This is all we're asking for.

A representation was submitted to the MCD with a list of 100+ feeders in a zone-wise format, with contact details of each feeder and the number of dogs under their care.

These caregivers offered to help with the #G20India2023 proceedings as well, but this representation was completely overlooked by the MCD. They proceeded to pick up dogs surreptitiously and cruelly instead and locked them up in unsanitary conditions without proper tagging.

Even now, despite written representations and follow ups, permissions are still awaited for feeders to enter all ABC centres to identify and tag all their dogs to ensure that they are not released at the wrong location.

It will be disastrous if the dogs are released without involving their caregivers. It will lead to increased dog-dog, dog-human and human-human conflict, but does anyone care?

People from across the city have lost all faith in the @MCD_Delhi .

Several people have been taking dogs home or sending them to shelters by spending their hard-earned money, but there are 1000+ dogs that have not been so lucky. There are reports of dogs having broken their teeth, fainted, injured and bruised while being caught by dangerous metal nooses.

Hats off to Sunil Ji for preventing the illegal capture of these dogs by standing up for them against the goons from the MCD, but citizens should not have to do what the government is paid to do.

Let's put an end to the #g20animalcruelty of illegal catching methods and relocation of dogs once and for all!!
