Kemi Badenoch says that the Tories will not stand a candidate in 'this fake by-election'. She accuses Farage of 'running away from scrutiny' and having a 'hissy fit'
So the Tories, Lib Dems and Restore Britain won't stand a candidate. Labour is also expected to refrain from joining the contest
Kemi Badenoch: 'We will be standing a candidate in the real by-election, which will follow the standards investigation into Nigel Farageโs fishy finances
'We will not be standing a candidate in the fake by-election that Farage is causing to distract people from what is happening. We need to let that investigation run its course, and I think the reason why Nigel Farage has resigned is because heโs terrified that he's going to be found to have done something wrong.
'The best thing for him to have done would have been to call a press conference and explain what he did with the money, apologise if needs be, and that would have been the end of it. Instead, he has been running away from scrutiny. No one is bigger than parliament. We all have to register our interests.
'We, the Conservative Party, are very focused on uniting the country around sensible policies. We're going to focus on getting Britain working again and showing some common sense, not throwing random by-elections out because we're having a hissy fit.'
Just to be clear, then. FIFA:
1) can't possibly intervene when Iran are forced to move, a referee is denied a visa, or fans are barred from the USA
2) can absolutely intervene when a decision goes against the USA that Donald Trump doesn't like
Smashing. All know where we stand
FIFA's own rules dictate that if a government tries to intervene in a disciplinary matter - that team is disqualified. Not happening to the USA though, despite trump making that phone call. Wonder why. ๐ค
Fuck Trump. Fuck Infantino.
Just when you think your contempt for @FIFAWorldCup and the US administration canโt get any greater.
Humbly, what the fuck does a red card have to do with the US president, and why has Infantino buckled?
As I wrote at the weekend, Nigel Farage is well aware of how these things are starting to play. with the public. But he doesn't seem to care. Which is why a number of people are starting to question whether he really is in it for the long haul to the election.
Until recently Nigel Farage would have been able to shrug this sort of stuff off. But like I say, his forcefield isn't operating any more. So this is going to stick.
