I hate Andrew Tate as much as anyone but the way the Romanian authorities are going after him is a very concerning attack on freedom and will have a chilling effect on anyone trying to set up a sex trafficking ring in Romania
Never ceases to amaze me that, long before current brouhaha, Andrew Neil @afneil was somehow able to present political programmes on the BBC while chairing the frequently far right-adjacent Spectator magazine. Lucky for him that he didn’t front the footie…
Ireland has never, of course, had oil wealth. And yet independent and in the EU the country is now amongst the most prosperous and happiest in the world. And crucially “the poorest Irish have a standard of living almost 63% higher than the poorest in the UK.”
20 years ago a drunk, angry woman came at me with a broken bottle in an alley behind Broughty Ferrry Safeway’s. I calmed her down and said you are a wild animal but you have the quick wits of a street cat. Let’s hear more from the cat. That woman was Sue Gray. Rest is history.
One of the things about the NHS that has always surprised me is why NHS England is willing to pay NHS Trusts and private companies more for providing a service than they are willing to pay general practices for providing the same service.
This is crucial. The absurd & deliberate inflation of Sue Gray’s role is as cowardly as it is transparent. The ultimate irony is that many Tory MPs, their brains boiled by Brexit, are now desperately trying to abdicate their democratic responsibilities to an unelected bureaucrat.
