Scientists have tested upper-room ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI), where the upper portion of a room is flooded with UV light in a way that doesn’t emit down to the lower portion of the room & kills viruses in seconds!

@DavidElfstrom@UK_Engineer_Mat @pieceful9 @Don_Milton@Yukinoguchi Upper-Room is Safe in the presence of persons. 70 years of use avoiding airborne infections among persons indoors, and no safety issues. Probably there is no better endorsement than that very long experience.
Seq confirmed transmission between different cubicles: everyone masked, HVAC MERV-13 filters, peak CO2 769 ppm 👉 Ventilation & filtration good. Alone not enough. For control highly contagious airborne viruses - we need germicidal UV light. @Yukinoguchi

Here's How to to Clean Our Indoor Air Properly Against COVID-19. Do not miss this well-written article by my colleague Dr. Nardell in @TIME on ENGINEERING CONTROLS, highlighting the underdeveloped but validated and effective germicidal ultraviolet lights https://t.co/XLmCPvpbMK
I finally found time to read Dr. Ed Nardell’s wonderful review in Time. @UMDPublicHealth we are installing upper room GUV and soon will also start using far UV. These technologies will provide safe germ free indoor air and reduce reliance on masks & respirators. @PHABlabumd
@DavidElfstrom@nb_covid_info@joeyfox85 This target theory is the way to compare different air disinfection technologies. Very Useful. Example: one Upper-Room #uvgi fixture providing an average irradiance of 30microwatt/cm2 in the Upper-Room provides equivalent to +20ACH, noiseless, and at lowest energy cost
