@jefferymills@thetigero@ddasser @nettycapo @ibnPhilip @jordanbpeterson It is a good question. A logical one. Same for sex dolls. Erotica, computer generated sex games, sex dolls are all media harming no one physically. But do they incite harm and exploitation indirectly? (not saying that this means we should ban them)
@TaylorRMarshall Because they are annoyed that they were sold a lie and want others to feel the same euphoria of being liberated from that lie. Personally I don’t get mad but I do care about the truth.
@testing4120@roseveniceallan Why would women’s rights be limited because of this? And if that were true men who went to fight would have had more rights than those that didn’t. But it was the opposite way around. The elite got to vote whilst the soldiers didn’t.
@peterboghossian I feel like the UK and the US have different definitions of gender. For some the literal definition of gender is that is socially constructed but for others it is tied to sex
@TeddyOist@WomenReadWomen And obviously it’s fine to respond to what the opposite sex want, but when it is damaging to your well-being then I’d say it’s right to care and to ask the questions
@TeddyOist@WomenReadWomen I wasn’t talking about sexual attractiveness. I was talking about differences in personality traits and whether they’re biological or socially imposed or both.
@TeddyOist@WomenReadWomen It’s not that femininity is unreal, it’s that a lot of its norms are socially determined. And yes, men & women present differently. The question is how much is from socialisation & how much from not only your own biology but the biology of the person you’re interacting with
@tettodoro@aggressie@WomenReadWomen @katscienceteach I don’t mean to be rude but are you a man? I only say tht because if you were a woman you’d know tht there’s a hell of a lot of superficial stuff tht is hoisted upon us from an early age. Unless you’re lucky enough to have either savvy parents, an iron will or blissful ignorance!
@aggressie@WomenReadWomen @katscienceteach I agree. I think there’s sex(biological) and there’s gender(socially constructed) then a lot of things in between which are determined by biology but strengthened by society. But what those things are is hotly debated and it’s impossible to tell with society so strong in place
