The best news is that this week we notified students of TAships, undergraduate and graduate awards, and honor society induction ceremonies. It's been a really good past couple of days. It's the best when you can share good news.

Also, it is my partner's birthday today. He is 37 years old. Around a year ago he lost his oldest brother. It's a weird time.

I made a decision to do something a few days ago and today I did that thing.

I don't think I will get the thing, but I had to do the thing. It was in my best interest and in the best interest of others to do the thing.

The best thing I did as a writing teacher after pandemic teaching was getting rid of late paper penalties. I want people to turn in quality work, and sometimes that means accepting late work.
