Hi, I want to break down one of the biggest lies about #line3 that enbridge and its supporters keep spreading: the claim that without the new pipeline to transport 760,000 barrels of oil per day, all that oil would be transported by rail instead (with a much higher risk of spill)
Because I am losing my mind, I try to say these things to myself:
- this depravity is designed to break international solidarity, telling us there is nothing we can do so give up;
- the Palestinian people have not been defeated;
- every Empire falls;
Do everything you can.
Today the Minneapolis City Council approved a resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to US military aid to Israel, adding to the global movement for a ceasefire and end to the occupation.
once again thank you to @GovTimWalz@MnPCA and PUC for allowing the #line3 expansion across our state & vulnerable waterways so that the toxic and deadly tar sands industry could continue to gut the boreal forests, poison folks in canada, and cook our planet 👍
Toxic emissions from the oil sands up to 6000% higher than reported, wow, who would ever have guessed that corporations would lie about this https://t.co/VS3lb3ywTH
It has been said, but cannot be said enough right now. Opposing Zionism is not an attack on the Jewish people. Opposing Israel's genocide in Gaza is not an attack on the Jewish people. Calling for a ceasefire is not an attack on the Jewish people. Do not let anyone silence you.

.@GovTimWalz has been happy to take credit for all the hard work of actual progressive organizers & legislators this session but drew the line at protecting underpaid & exploited workers. Pathetic
BREAKING: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has vetoed a bill to give rideshare drivers minimum pay rates after Uber threatened to withdraw from most of the state if the bill was signed into law.
The CDC has finally published guidance for cleaning indoor air and is recommending wearing masks in schools.
Why wait until after the end of the public health emergency? The government always knew about the science needed to save lives. But they didn't want to pay for it.
Witnessing the public suffering of the homeless is indeed uncomfortable. It is uncomfortable because it forces you to see the depths of state and communal failure, and to acknowledge your own complicity.
IT'S THE POST YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR: UMN GRADUATE WORKERS HAVE A UNION! We won 2487 yes votes to 70 no- that's 97% in favor of a union! The hard work of countless graduate workers pays off!
State Sen. Megan Hunt (D), speaking directly to Republicans, reaffirms vow to filibuster all legislation if #NEleg anti-trans bill passes:
"No one in the world holds a grudge like me. And no one in the world cares less about being petty than me. I don't care. I don't like you."
Today’s @IPCC_CH synthesis report makes it clear that under current policies and commitments, the world is headed toward catastrophic climate overshoot. We can not keep tinkering at the edges of a deadly system; we need transformative change NOW. https://t.co/N83cfNXGTU
"Today’s climate pragmatism offers a frustratingly narrow vision of reform. Rather than challenging the instrumental view of nature that led us to this pre-apocalyptic moment, it asks us to imagine a world much the same as our current one, minus the climate change." really good
As I see yet another major account in the climate space use vegans - and specifically a small number of online vegans on Twitter - as a punching bag and an empty signifier onto which to project, I worry that the climate-animal space remains at an impasse. https://t.co/DOoPAt9OHR
Approving the Willow Project, Biden has failed to meet his climate promises, and in the process has violated Indigenous Peoples’ rights and committed the US to more climate pollution.
