Derek was a lifelong supporter, a Magpie, through and through. Our thoughts are with Derek's family and friends at this sad time. 🖤🤍

Christmas Day update.

Who would have thought that our plans to open for a few hours on Christmas Day would have gone viral? But it has.

One question we keep being asked is, ‘why?’

A simple answer - why not.

If one person turns up and isn’t alone, then it’s worth opening the doors.
There are several staff coming in, and that’s because they want to come in, and not because they’ve been asked to.

We are also being asked by businesses and by people as far and wide as the USA if they can donate to the day - the answer is yes.

We are asking people to contact: [email protected] and our staff in the Community Foundation will pass on the relevant details to you.

Our Community Foundation does great work in the local area, and any monies not used on Christmas Day will be used in the local area and not swallowed up in the day-to-day running of a football club.

For those that aren’t already aware, the club will be opening its doors from noon until 3pm on Christmas Day for anyone who would like to call in.

Anybody is welcome, whether you're home alone or want to get out of the house with the family for a couple of hours.

@tinytwink my mum has to go into full time care last year after taking a turn for the worst with her dementia. Carers are without doubt the most amazing people, without the lovely carers at my mums home we would have been really struggling. From me to you thank you. 😊 x
