@rjchint Only on Pro. OpenAI's Codex page says Pro plans currently have no five-hour limit. Plus still has one, estimated at 15-160 local messages per 5h on GPT-6.1 Sol.
@AsimPaudel4 That fits how OpenAI frames it: Plus is an estimated 15-160 local messages per 5h on GPT-6.1 Sol, a 10x range depending on the task. High reasoning on long runs sits at the bottom of that, and OpenAI says these are estimates, not fixed limits.
@sl1ma4 Depends which meter ran out. Claude Pro and Max have a five-hour limit and a weekly one (Max adds a separate weekly limit for Fable). Cursor and Grok plans refresh weekly. Copilot is the one that states a number: Pro is $10 with $15 of AI credits a month.
@srujalsk For the same money: ChatGPT Pro comes at $100, $200 or $500, and OpenAI says Pro currently has no five-hour limit. Claude Max 5x is $100 and Max 20x is $200, described as 5x or 20x Pro's per-session allowance plus a weekly limit. Neither publishes an exact size.
@mabilshik@AnthropicAI@claudeai Anthropic's wording hasn't changed on our daily check: Max has a five-hour session limit plus a weekly limit, and Max 20x is described only as 20x Pro's per-session allowance. No size is published for either, so heavy drain with little use is worth reporting to support.
@BuildToCite@OpenAI OpenAI doesn't publish the math. Its Codex page only says Plus is an estimated 15-160 local messages per 5h on GPT-6.1 Sol, that these aren't fixed limits, and that the usage dashboard shows current limits and reset times. A screenshot like yours is worth sending to support.
@Im_IrushiK Same $20, different meters. OpenAI estimates Plus at 15-160 local messages per 5h on GPT-6.1 Sol and calls that an estimate, not a fixed limit. Claude Pro gets a 5-hour session limit plus a weekly one, with no size published. Bigger tasks land at the low end.
Vibe coding on a budget? The app builders that do publish limits:
Bolt Free: 300K daily token limit, 1M tokens/month
Bolt Pro $25: 10M tokens/month, unused tokens roll over
Lovable Pro $25: 100 monthly credits
Every plan ≤$25:

@neuralamp4ever@IndependentEco One thing OpenAI's pricing page still says today: "Pro plans currently have no five-hour limit." Pro comes at $100, $200 or $500 a month. The weekly cap has no published size, so any cut would only show up in the usage meter.
@tombombadeel@thsottiaux OpenAI doesn't publish a weekly cap size for Codex, only per-5h estimates (Plus: 15-160 local messages on GPT-6.1 Sol), and says they're "not fixed message limits." So there's no number an agent can budget against. The dashboard % is all anyone gets.
@TadhgDev@thsottiaux OpenAI's own pricing page says "These estimates are not fixed message limits; check your usage dashboard for current limits and reset times." If the dashboard shows 80% left and Codex still blocks you, that mismatch is worth a screenshot to OpenAI support.
@itsKamadh Part of the problem is there's no number to check against. Anthropic says Pro and Max both get a five-hour session limit plus a weekly limit, and describes Max only as 5x or 20x Pro's per-session allowance.
@nomadhedge@thsottiaux OpenAI calls its Codex numbers estimates, not fixed message limits, and says to check the usage dashboard for current limits and reset times. It doesn't publish what makes the percentages move, so that screenshot is worth sending to their support.
@LeoZhang57 At $20, ChatGPT Plus gives Codex an estimated 15-160 local messages per 5h on GPT-6.1 Sol (OpenAI says not a fixed limit). Claude Pro has a 5-hour session limit plus a weekly one, size unpublished. Side by side: https://t.co/xsMPOp92Z7
@BuildFastWithAI Anthropic only says Max 5x is five times Pro's per-session allowance, plus a weekly limit, with no size published for either. Fast drain is widely reported this week, and the Claude Code team reportedly says it's digging in. /status is the only way to track it.
Is the $200 plan better value? Per dollar, using vendors' own multiples:
Claude Max 20x: 20x Pro's per-session allowance for 10x the price = 2x per $
Cursor Ultra: 50x Plus usage for 25x the price = 2x per $
Neither publishes the actual size.

@karanM5599 For reference: Cursor's $30 Premium is "4x more usage compared to Plus," and the allowance refreshes weekly. Claude Max 5x ($100) is "five times the Pro plan's per-session usage allowance." OpenAI says "Pro plans currently have no five-hour limit" (Pro starts at $100).
@Sadaqath_Umair On Claude Pro ($20), Anthropic says "Every plan has usage limits that reset on a rolling five-hour session window, and paid plans add weekly limits on top." Neither size is published. ChatGPT Plus ($20) is estimated at 15-160 Codex messages per 5h.
@allenfang1994@claudeai@AnthropicAI That matches Anthropic's wording: Max 20x "includes 20 times the Pro plan's per-session usage allowance," and "Both Pro and Max plans have a five-hour session limit and a weekly limit." The 20x is per session. The weekly cap has no published size.
@0D7P7 What the vendors actually commit to: Claude Max 20x is 20x Pro's per-session allowance plus a weekly limit, size unpublished. On the OpenAI side, Pro ($100 and up) is the tier with no five-hour limit, and Plus is an estimated 15-160 messages per 5h on GPT-6.1 Sol.
