A fixed mindset feels threatened by the success of others, while a growth mindset finds lessons & inspiration from others' success.
Remember, blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make yours any brighter.
If we each made one positive comment to another person today, just think how uplifting & transformational that could be...
What if we did this every day?
Consider yourself challenged. :)
Teachers,
If you haven't already, you will soon receive your class roster. Know this about your roster: The kids in your class is no accident. You are in their life for a reason and a divine purpose. You are the difference! YOU! #edchat
Teachers, when our kids come back to school, please don't focus on "What did you do this summer?" Many kids didn't leave town. They didn't go on a cruise. They didn't go camping or ride rollercoasters. They are simply thrilled to be back at school. Embrace that.

If we choose not to greet our students each & every day, we are missing one of the easiest & most impactful ways of showing our students that we care.
We can also learn a lot about our students' 'status' for the day.

While many kids are loving their summer break, there are some who are missing their teacher. They are missing school. When I think about that reality, I’m reminded of the difference teachers make in the life of a child. They are the bright spot for a lot of kids!
How we respond to & celebrate someone else’s success says a lot about us.
We shouldn't blow out someone else’s candles just because it’s not our birthday.
