@KelseyTuoc@altheamom1 I let my kids, 6 and 4 at the time, sit in the grocery cafe while I shopped for a few things. Everyone *except* my grandma said I was crazy. Elderly women are usually the least likely to be weird like this!
@storyshaped@NewYorker I loved the piece, but are you sure you’re not confusing implantation here with conception? I think only something like 30% of implanted embryos are not viable. But if you’re looking at conceptions, it’s probably more like 40-60% (but of course, those don’t turn a HPT positive)
@lymanstoneky Chloe's piece argues against the concept of "lazy" parenting, so I think she probably agrees with you that the answer isn't to just ignore your kids. But "doing stuff with your kids" is not really the definition of intensive parenting. Hence her term "potluck parenting"!
@clairevo@wolftivy Mini homeschool before? Do you have one of the rare late starts? Super curious about this generally as I approach SFUSD with the same mindset as you - it's great to be in a neighborhood community school and there are so many ways to enrich outside of school in any areas lacking.
I made up a word game with @mikeklaas where you think of words where the first two letters are the same letters in the same order as the last two letters (e.g. verve, educated, orator, church, amalgam, estuaries, tesselate). Can anyone help think of more?
@nheudecker @chrissyfarr@caseyjohnston came here to say the same! her writing convinced me to go from lifelong committed runner to building a gym in my garage and lifting heavy weights. so grateful.
Ironic that @nytimes quiz 'how much do you know about the menstrual cycle' contains a pretty obvious error in saying that fertilization can happen *before* ovulation. @Alisha__g, maybe worth a correction? https://t.co/t9tkALfmut
@daniela_witten Ummm … this is especially weird given that Oura is currently running a study on tracking the menstrual cycle with u/s confirmed ovulation (I'm in it). Feels like they should know better! https://t.co/Uw764x0AsO
