Croydon’s first 'by & for' network of women & girls recovering from domestic abuse & sexual violence and born of African & Caribbean heritage. Founded in 2017.
Systemically, incidents are assessed in isolation instead of asking:
•What patterns emerged?
•Were behaviours minimised as “relationship drama”?
•Were manipulation & coercive control #CCB understood properly?
•Were complaints or concerns treated with seriousness & context?
Highly visible environments like Married at First Sight #MAFS UK, with welfare teams, vetting processes & public scrutiny can still fail to identify or respond adequately to high levels of risks which mirrors wider societal failures around Violence Against Women & Girls #VAWG
Married at First Sight UK brides tell BBC they were raped by on-screen husbands.
I am representing — through @proudmanslaw — Lizzie, a former contestant and complainant of domestic abuse.

You would be lying if you can't see or refuse to see just how powerful her presence is, how articulately she speaks- with passion, intent and true purpose.
Meghan Sussex is changing the world around her. And I for one, welcome her using her platform to help others.
Medical misogyny, political misogyny, workplace misogyny, judicial misogyny, media misogyny, online misogyny, policing misogyny, age-based misogyny - you get the picture. It’s systemic and institutional and women have had ENOUGH. 🤦🏾♀️
“Ex-Spandau Ballet singer who raped two women jailed for 14 years.” Probably out in seven years. It’s not long enough. Rape ruins lives. https://t.co/ZGenBUtmkZ
“This is not something that's [just] happening abroad. This is happening every single day in your home” says Derrica Wilson, author of a new children’s book, to warn children and parents about predators who lure children into sex trafficking.

One month on from our Anthology & Play launch, we’re still processing the beauty, courage and power of what we created together.
Deep gratitude to everyone who attended, supported and believed in survivor-led spaces.
More reflections soon 🦁⭕️💜
I can turn off WiFi at midnight. But mobile data? No time controls. @tescomobile literally said “we don’t do time.”
If child safeguarding matters to these providers, time-based controls on ALL mobile data should be standard📱⚖️
Attending court can be an incredibly anxious time for victims of domestic abuse. This funding is a positive step towards ensuring they feel confident on the process and get vital updates on their case, something survivors tell me they often don't receive.

Operation Stovewood: Man guilty of raping woman and child 20 years ago - it’s great he’s been convicted but why did it take 20 years? He probably raped a lot of other women in that time. https://t.co/xNqGktLfvV
“Peter Mandelson arrested and led away by police.” For decades the male ruling class has survived on handshakes, nods and paper shredders. These men never thought anyone would read their emails. But once you have a digital history it’s hard to escape it.

No one is angry enough, those are babies and children."
