Wow. After a caregiver made sure his special needs friend with Down’s Syndrome did not touch or get too close to a member of the Royal Guard, this happened!
The actions have earned the member of the King’s Guard praise from his superiors after the incident went viral.
“The young Trooper exemplifies all that is good in the British Army, and while only a small step to the side, in my opinion, he showed the humanity we should all aspire to,” a statement read.
The member was part of the UK Household Cavalry and are considered trusted guardians of the monarch.
The young man with Down's syndrome, Ibrahim, 17, and his friend Mike van Erp, wanted their photo taken with the Trooper of the Blues and Royals but were keen to ensure they were respectful around the soldier.
Mr van Erp, the man seen with Ibrahim, has worked with the 17-year-old and his family for a decade.
Respect for respect! Guard members get so much disrespect from tourists, I’m sure it was a breath of fresh air for him to see respect being taught.
One thing is true: he has a heart.
Must respect to all three people who show that respect is truly a two way street.
One small step for man, one giant leap for humanity.
Following a decade as adjutant general of the Nebraska National Guard, Daryl Bohac stepped down, passing the reins to Craig Strong.
Bohac leaves as the nation’s second-longest-serving adjutant general.
