Whenever I ask what Nigeria or Africa needs to do to get richer, the answer is always the same: โWe need better leaders.โ
I think that answer is too easy.

The new Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine (11th Ed) officially recognizes Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh. ๐ณ๐ฌ
She is the hero who stood her ground against Ebola to save a nation of 200 million.
Seeing her name in these pages is a win for every Nigerian health worker.
A Practical Note: How to Actually Be Led.
If the Holy Spirit does not follow rules, how do I follow Him?
It is simpler than religion made it.
Slow down. The Spirit speaks at the pace of a whisper, not a shout. If your life has no gaps, He has nowhere to land. "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10).
Know the difference between conviction and anxiety. The Spirit's leading carries peace, even when the instruction is uncomfortable. Anxiety rushes and catastrophises. He does not. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).
Start small. The nudge to text someone. The pull to give something away. The quiet impression to stay silent when everything in you wants to speak. Follow those. They are training ground. "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much" (Luke 16:10).
Read scripture without an agenda. Just sitting with Scripture the way you sit with a friend. The Spirit and the Word never contradict each other, so the more saturated you are in one, the more clearly you will recognise the other. "The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you" (John 14:26).
Being led by the Spirit is not mystical. It is relational. You learn His voice the way you learn anyone's: by spending time with Him and responding when He speaks.
The wind is blowing. The only question is whether you will move.
Iโve been following the broader conversations around this case, and the dominant theme has been around healthcare regulation. Thatโs an important direction, but there are IMPORTANT things to take into consideration.
Firstly, as someone has already pointed out, it is important that medical professionals and regulators be at the forefront of conversations around regulatory reforms. If they donโt lead the push for accountability and standards, any policy changes that come will be reactive, superficial, and misdirected.
What I however want to point out is that you canโt talk about reform, regulation and governance in ISOLATION, as if Nigeriaโs healthcare system is a normal functioning system that simply needs stricter rules. The framing is dishonest. You cannot regulate a system as though it is functional when it is fundamentally operating in SURVIVAL mode (look at his comparison to the UK ๐ )
This is a system that is chronically underfunded, understaffed, and running on broken infrastructure. Staff are underpaid, overworked, and often practising in conditions that already violate "best practice" before a single clinical decision is even made.
Accountability matters. Negligence should have consequences. But building regulation that is mainly punitive, in a collapsing system, becomes messy and unfair when the systemic issues are ignored. What standards are you realistically going to enforce when hospitals donโt even have the tools and infrastructure required to meet them?
The truth is that governance and funding are not separate conversations. Regulation without resourcing is theatre. You can create a new regulator, revise the laws, set up panels, announce probes, even run a few high-profile sanctions, but if you donโt fix staffing ratios, pay, infrastructure, supply chains, and training capacity, nothing changes. Negligence will keep happening, not because Nigerians are cursed, but because unsafe systems reliably produce unsafe outcomes.
So yes, call for accountability. But that accountability and reform must be intelligent. It must include the State(& the Judiciary which needs REFORMS more than ever. That is his own constituency after all).
It must include the hospital management. It must include the procurement corruption. It must include the collapse of emergency pathways. It must include the "no oxygen," "no blood," "no bed," "no scanner," "no anaesthetist," "no specialities" realities. Above all it must include the government that has for decades neglected healthcare and made it an afterthought instead of a priority.
Otherwise what weโre really doing is blaming individuals for drowning in a river the government refused to build a bridge over.

I have a very good news for Nigeria.
This boy Agbo Adoga from Graceland International School, Port-Harcourt just scored a perfect SAT score of 1600.
He is the first ever in Nigeria to achieve this.
His school uses educare and educare exams prep platform (https://t.co/dnjSLGbm07) helped a lot.
It was actually tasty!!! Ngl I was pleasantly surprised. My only real criteria was that they follow the right steps and it be at least edible but it was genuinely good.
They did incredible maths to scale up the recipe. Every ingredient was weighed and calculated at each step.

Jealousy Limits Your Destiny II
I dislike talking about jealousy
When I see it in anyone, I distance myself from such a person
I have seen firsthand the destructive power it has over its victims
Not only in the way it twists their minds and contorts their ability to reason, but also in the way it rules over their bodies
I have seen people who claim to be in love get so jealous that they kill the person they claimed to love
In some other instances, I have seen the so-called jealous person become so imprisoned by this emotion that he or she loses the rest of mind, peace, and the ability to govern his or her body due to jealousy
A friend claims she cannot stand disloyalty in her friends, and no friend of hers must ever have any form of conversation with someone she loves in her absence
To her, loving someone gives her the exclusive right to the personโs space and time, and no other person who is regarded as her friend should ever cross that line
On the surface, this seems reasonable until she was going to clock 30 and her fiancรฉ decided to throw a surprise party for her
In order for the surprise party idea to work out, the fiancรฉ needed to work hand in glove with her best friend of over twenty years
Ironically, she was the one who tacitly suggested the idea of a surprise party to her fiancรฉ, claiming she wished her friends or colleagues at the office would throw one for her
She suddenly noticed that her boyfriendโs pattern of behaviour deviated from the norm
He would tell her he had a meeting on days he usually would be free, and he would pick up calls away from her vicinity
The entire deviation lasted about a month
She knew her fiancรฉ was keeping a secret from her and automatically assumed he was having an affair
One day, she decided to play James Bond in order to discover what he was up to
She tailed him to a restaurant and saw with her two eyes that he was meeting with her best friend
She stewed in this sight for hours, considering many scenarios and permutations
She noticed that most of the time her fiancรฉ had been missing, or on a call, her friend had also not been available
She concluded her boyfriend had been cheating on her with her best friend
Once she reached this conclusion, the next step for her was retaliation
She needed to teach both parties a lesson
She somehow got her hands on a bucket of acid and poured it on her best friend just three days before her birthday party
She also poisoned freshly made watermelon and left it in her boyfriendโs fridge, knowing he would drink it long after she had prepared it and then die.
She did this on the 16th of July, 2025.
Thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit that arrested the acid and limited its impact on the spot
Thank God for the medical help that came swiftly, and the help and support of believers who rallied to help financially, so that the right chemicals were used to neutralize the impact of the acid within an hour of the incident
Thank God for the swift arrest of the jealous friend by the Holy Spirit, which led to her quick remorse when she was told what had been going on.
The fiancรฉ was informed about the poisoned drink in his fridge before he could take it
Now she is in police custody
Her family members were unable to sleep all night because they needed to beg their friend and her family members not to press charges
They needed to beg the pastor of both friends to intervene using the spirit of God to help them set free someone who allowed herself to become consumed by a dark spirit of destruction
Her family members were claiming mental exhaustion and begging that she will get therapy
She didnโt consider her future and the future of the two people she claimed to have loved the most in the world, whose lives she decided to take because she is a โjealousโ person
Some people think jealousy is something they should be flattered about in their partners
They donโt know it is a strange fire that could cost them their destinies
Someone said the opposite of jealousy is apathy
Apathy is a state of indifference and lack of feeling, emotion, interest, or concern
The person is very wrong
Jealousy is being possessive, suspicious, envious, domineering, controlling, invidious, mistrustful, jaundiced, overprotective, insecure and selfish love.
The opposite of jealousy is selfless love; it is undemanding, uncontrolling, trustful, understanding, generous, kind, benevolent, charitable, kind-hearted, well-meaning, altruistic, freeing, and liberating.
True love has become so scarce nowadays, most people treat investing their emotions in another person the way they treat investing their money in a ponzi scheme
If you save your money in a bank with all the right insurances and certifications, you usually go to sleep with your two eyes closed
When you invest in a scheme that you know can crash at any time, you lose your peace
Most people do not find that peace and trusting devotion in love anymore
Love has become a prison, and the beloved is the warden of the prison
We live in an era where checking each otherโs phones and eavesdropping on conversations have become the norm
There are apps now meant to feed our jealousy by granting us access to our partnerโs phones, messages, and chats so that we can monitor them for our peace of mind
I remember discussing with a โwifeโ once and asking her why she was checking her husbandโs messages daily
She said she believes it is the right thing to do, and she can never stop doing it
She and her husband are divorced now
Not because he cheated, but because her paranoia made her unstable and scared her husband into abandoning the marriage
As I write this, there is a 29-year-old in police custody, her future has already been coloured by Jealousy, and there is another 29-year-old in the hospital battling for her life, while there is a 32-year-old man who spent the whole night crying and regretting trying to put together a surprise party for his babe.
We all should learn a lesson from this and eschew jealousy completely
If you canโt love freely, you need not love at all.
PS: We were able to raise some support for the treatment of the sister in the hospital
The burns and damages were mostly towards her scalp and back
She is still taking treatment, and every support we can get still counts
If you are led to help, please send me a message on +2348072744871 WhatsApp or on Twitter DM
I ask that we all learn a lesson from this
Pay attention to your emotions
If you notice you are a jealous person, resist that spirit fiercely
Make it a part of your declaration from the place of conviction
I am a product of love, i love freely and I am worthy of love without any form of encuberance
I love selflessly as Gid has always loved me from the beginning
Blessed Be God.
I will be speaking at the RCOG World Congress 2025 in London this June! #RCOG2025 theme for this year is โEquity in care, innovation in actionโ, focusing on the future of womenโs healthcare globally.
Before all the paid and looking for payday prophets begin to flood the timelines with various prophecies regarding 2027 elections.
Let me be very clear, the best thing you can do for yourself as a Nigerian is to start speaking forth the good concerning your lot in this country.
Many will assume their destiny and good blessings is in the hand of a government or politician and they will be very wrong, especially Believers.
Your destination in destiny is solely dependent on the instructions you give your spirit through your mouth.
I was once a poor Journalist who writes the stories of Nigeria and sit in newsrooms where Nigeria gets cursed daily
The more i did that the poorer i became and the more frustrated.
I left journalism on May 4, 2014.
I joined a church as the PA to a Pastor and as i observed the rich members of the church and their speech pattern, I was shocked.
They all constantly and continuously speak well of Nigeria and bless their portions in the land of the living. I thought they spoke like that because they had money and all the good things of life and I spoke with frustration, anger and bitterness because of my lack and constant poverty.
I continued to talk poor for three years, the libe between the rich and the poor in the church where i worked continued to widen to the point where I was almost begging for bread.
My car, a camry's engine knocked and i couldn't afford to repair it.
Things just continued to get worse.
One day, as i prayed, the Lord said to me "You laid the bed you are lying on with your words. You invited poverty, lack and emptiness into your life because this is what you see and you are moved by what you see.
If you were moved by My Word, you would have taljed your way out of poverty.
I began to talk my way out of poverty from that day.
People laughed at me
The landlady heard me talking in my room one day and sent for me
When i got to her she said "Since gold is yours and silver is yours and all the currency in the whole world are yours, pay the rent you are owing me"
I said "Mama, I was praying but i will pay it soon"
Within three years of talking right, i built my own house and left everything (chairs, electeonics, kitchenware, everything) in that flat for my landlady.
I am not saying you should not support your political choice and bad mouth the one you dont like but to keep saying things are hard or not working just for clout and retweets, you will be shocked at how powerful your words will tabernacle over the light of your life.
I make bold to say that talking right brought me out of poverty
When I wanted to test it further, i began to say the gates of nations of the world has been opened unto me and this has also happened since 2022.
Whenever i needed to change something or move in a new direction, I prompt my future with my own voice spoken with my own mouth.
Before the last election somebody came to me lamenting about how difficult things were for him ubder the last president and he said he is scared if the current one becomes elected things will only become worse.
I told him that unbelievers are allowed to talk the way he talked. A believer is the architect of his own fortune.
This person's business has florished so much under this government that he himself testified to it when we met a few days ago.
If you train yourself to talk right you will think right.
There is a RIVER that makes glad the city of God (Zion). This river is voice prompted by believers in whatever country they are and it waters their farms and vineyards turning their little into so much more.
I have never seen a government that came to power which didnt produce its own set of "the rich" and "the poor".
It is in your mouth to determine how the coming years will work out for you
I happened to Nigeria while Nigeria was happening to so many
At the end of the day, I am making known the faithfulness of God with my own mouth today
Finally, pray for the success of the government of the day
Those who do so shall prosper
