I have spent 20 years in rooms most people only hear about after something goes wrong.
Medical emergency room. Security Command centres. Hotel fires. Campus halls. The minute before CPR starts.
This handle is 15 years old. The Blue Tick is NEW.
I will use it to put those rooms on this timeline - so a student, a security officer, a teacher or a parent does not have to learn the lesson the hard way.
Follow if you want stories that save lives & careers. 🤍🫶🏽
I asked a friend who has been sober for six years how he quit alcohol & smoking.
He said: don’t start with “I’ll quit forever.”
Start with: “What would 30 days without it give me?”
Forever is a wall.
Thirty days is a door you can actually open.
I saw him on the curb outside an IT park in Chennai.
Suit on. Maggi in a paper cup. Crying quietly.
The phone rang. He straightened his voice before he answered.
When the call ended, the shoulders dropped again.
That is not “the price of success.”
That is a young man trying to protect his dad from the truth of a hard city.
A lot of first jobs look like a blazer from the gate & like this from the pavement.
Unpaid practice. Unanswered mails. Days you almost stopped.
Then one day it works.
That feeling cannot be borrowed, downloaded, or posted in advance.
It has to be earned in the weeks nobody clapped.
Teachers notice the cracks before the data does.
Right now they are seeing two things:
students who cannot sit with a page & students who will not start a sentence without AI.
We are not heading for a learning crisis.
We are already in one.
The phone stole the attention.
The tool is now offering to steal the thinking.
During a fireside chat, a young police officer told me that..
"the business ideas are buried in people's complaints.
Stop talking - Start listening"
Most good ideas are already being said out loud, just disguised as frustrations.
Complaints are underated market research!
@venmv812 Yes. Schools first.
By the time someone is 22 & in an office, we are already late. Warning signs + when to call + hands on a dummy (mannequin) should be in the timetable, not in an optional workshop.
Every minute matters. That is why we teach it before the minute arrives.
People think CPR starts with compressions.
It does not.
It starts with the person in the room who notices, calls for help & does not wait for a doctor who is not coming in time.
I have taught that sequence to thousands. A few of them used it for real.
You do not need a medical degree to keep blood moving for 4 minutes.
Learn it on a quiet afternoon.
The emergency will not send you a calendar invite.
Employees/bystanders freeze in the first 90 seconds of a fire.
Not bcoz they do not care. Bcoz drills lived only on a slide.
We stopped teaching “what the SOP says.”
We walked the corridors. Felt the heat in the story. Practised the exit with names, not roles.
Calm is not a personality trait. It is a rehearsal.
If your workplace has an extinguisher & no recent drill, you do not have a safety plan. You have furniture🤦🏽
The U.S. Ambassador did not look at my job title. He looked at a small pin on my suit.
“Thank you for being there for us. For protecting our people overseas.”
I led a big group of Security leaders doing that work - sharing threats early, helping travellers & offices stay ahead of trouble, so a family does not become a headline.
Most security & safety work is invisible on a good day. That is the point.
If someone only thanks you when things are calm, you probably did the job 🙌🏽

A visible improvement at the TIDEL Park signal!
After my earlier video highlighting how right-turning vehicles blocked the lanes meant for straight-moving traffic, the traffic police installed barricades to separate the two movements.
I recorded the junction again today. The video clearly shows smoother traffic flow, with most vehicles now keeping the straight-moving lanes clear. The improvement among MTC buses was especially noticeable.
The traffic police officer on duty thanked me and said this intervention had helped reduce congestion. He was also pleasantly surprised to see most MTC buses following the designated lane.
Earlier, an MTC official contacted me to appreciate the video and said it had been used to help drivers understand the issue and advised them to follow the lane

Chennai. Last night. It rained for a while. Power went off. It came back at 9 AM.
Twelve hours.
I called the section office. I called the AE. Multiple times. Nobody picked up. No SMS. No estimated restoration time. No update. Just a family sitting in the dark waiting for someone to answer a phone.
I want to be clear about what I am not saying. I am not saying it should never fail. Rain happens. Transformers fail. Feeders trip. Things break.
What I am saying is this. Twelve hours with no information and no human being on the other end of a phone line is not a weather event. It is an sytem failure.
In all the years I have lived here, twelve hours in the dark meant a cyclone. It meant the whole of Chennai was under water and you did not expect anyone to come. Last night it meant a few hours of rain on an ordinary Wednesday.
That is the part that should worry all of us. Not the outage. The lowering of the bar for what causes one.
For two decades we priced electricity below what it costs to deliver, and we funded the gap with debt instead of honesty. Every government did it. DMK did it. AIADMK did it. Both sides called it welfare and both sides knew what it was. The bill did not disappear. It just moved. It is now sitting inside forty-year-old distribution transformers in Chennai that give up the moment it rains.
A transformer does not know which party signed the subsidy order. It only knows whether it was maintained.
So, CM @CMOTamilnadu, this is what I want to put in front of you.
Yesterday you rode the metro. You bought your own ticket. You sat in the Operations Control Centre and asked how train movements are monitored. You stood on the Kathipara bridge at 101 feet and asked about construction methodology. You ran the driverless line yourself before signing off on it. That is genuinely hands-on and I do not say that lightly.
But the metro is the upgrade. Electricity is the floor.
A city can survive a delayed metro corridor. It cannot survive an unreliable grid. Every single thing you are building sits on top of power. The hospital. The school. The IT corridor you want investors in. The small shop with a fridge. The woman on a home oxygen concentrator in Pallikaranai. The kid writing exams next.
Nobody is going to ride a driverless train home to a house with no power.
Last night the metro had a Chief Minister in its control room. The distribution network had a phone that rang out.
I am not asking you to come to my street. I am asking whether electricity distribution gets treated as what it actually is, which is the primary public service in this state, not the department nobody wants to hold.
And here is the specific thing I want an answer on.
When your government explains last night, there are only two answers available.
The first one is the one we have heard for fifteen years. A transformer fault. A localised issue. A few streets, not the whole division. Heavy rain. Teams were deployed. Supply has been restored. Every government has given us that answer, and every government meant it, and nothing changed.
The second answer is harder to say out loud. That the distribution network in this city was starved of investment for more than a decade because nobody wanted to price power honestly. That the failure is structural, it was built deliberately, and it will take money and political pain to undo. And here is the plan and the timeline.
The first answer is management. The second one is reform.
I have no doubt about your intent. None. I think you actually want to fix this.
But intent is not a system. And the system is bigger than any one person in it.
Ninety days of good intentions cannot outrun twenty years of compounding. The only thing that beats compounding is a mechanism. So I am asking for mechanisms, not assurances. Three of them. None of them cost political capital.
Every government inherits a broken system and promises to fix it. Then the political cost of fixing it turns out to be higher than the political cost of managing it. So they manage it, and hand it to the next one. That is the machine. That is how a state with our tax base ends up with a grid that fails on a wet Wednesday.
You came in saying you would break that machine.
So which answer are we getting? The transformer fault, or the truth?
One more thing.
We grew up knowing Chennai as one of India's four metros. Today, be honest about where we stand. Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune all pulling ahead. Chennai is sliding.
Quality of life is not metro rail selfies. It is roads that do not flood in October. It is power that stays on when it rains. It is a phone that gets answered at midnight.
We are chasing ribbon-cutting infrastructure while the basics rot. And here is what keeps me up. Last night was light rain in July. The real rains hit in three months. If this is what a Wednesday drizzle does to the grid, what happens in November?
Is last night the teaser for what Chennai should expect when the northeast monsoon actually arrives?
I am not asking as someone who votes for or against you. I am asking as someone in Chennai who sat in the dark for twelve hours and could not get anyone on the phone.

It’s seems like My coaching career comes to an end after 1.5 years, during which we played 5 tournaments and secured 5 podium finishes, including a Junior World Cup bronze medal.
I have heard about coaches getting fired after bad performances.
But this is the first time I am experiencing being removed to make way for a foreign coach.
The Hockey India President stated that the chief coach of the senior men’s team prefers a foreign head coach for the junior team, believing it will help develop Indian hockey from the junior level through to the senior level. Hence, the continued preference for foreign coaches —
Can’t Indian coaches develop Indian hockey?
On 07-03-2026, during a meeting with the Hon’ble Sports Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, I was told, “Sreejesh, we need coaches like you to step up and lead our country as we prepare for 2036.”
However, Hockey India continues to place its trust in foreign coaches over Indian ones across all four teams.

A Prime Minister asking citizens to defer foreign travel, postpone gold buying, and restart work-from-home is not an energy conservation message.
It is a current account defence dressed up as patriotism.
Here is what Sunday’s speech is actually telling you.
