Thread: One of the main sources/inputs into training #chatgpt is from websites. Up until now, websites have been written by humans but more and more websites are now being written by chat GPT. It will soon be a reciprocal output to input. This is a problem surely…🧵

Left long enough, the input and the output of chat GPT could become completely digital, one’s and zeros for eg. And if gradual enough, we could be influenced enough to be speak long this way…

Imagine taking a copy of a copy then a copy of that copy and so on. You end up with something completely unrecognisable. Imagine this with data, with published language or text and how over time this will influence our own language or the way we speak.

The very nature of our culture and language is being changed because of how we behave on the net. If the reciprocal output of chat GPT becomes the input to its learning then over time it changes not based on humans but based on it self.

As a race, we are influenced by what’s on the internet. How we speak for example. YOLO, LOL, BRB are examples of where the human race has adopted or even changed its language to fall inline with what’s on the internet.
