Attitude and Effort. Greatness is a choice. LOVE THIS!
I've been telling my boys and players this same thing for the past 5yrs at least.
Attitude and effort are 2 of the only things that you always have control of and no one else can do for you.
I have a single rule in life that I will never break.
If I see kids selling lemonade, I stop and buy one.
Usually I don’t even end up drinking it, because it is usually terrible.
But entrepreneurship at a young age must be encouraged and rewarded.
@SenWarren@grok approximately how much has Elon musk paid in taxes over his lifetime. Make sure to include corporate taxes and add in a comparison for how much taxes have been paid estimated by all of the employees in his companies since inception.
Javier Milei: “I thought being on the left was a mental problem. The empirical evidence is so overwhelming that it never worked anywhere, and they refused to accept it.”
“But what I discovered is that being on the left is a disease of the soul. The left is built on envy, hatred, resentment, and unequal treatment under the law. They are very violent, and since they have no way or arguments to answer, they go for physical violence.”
“When women take over a culture, men become weak. When men become weak, they can be conquered. They can be conquered. You’re watching that happen in this country. As more and more and more and more women ascend to power, more and more men become weaker and weaker and weaker, and the level of vulnerability just keeps escalating.” — John MacArthur
Stephen A Smith DESTROYS Lebrons GOAT Case
"He played 23 years,he still has 2 less titles than Michael Jordan, Michael Jordan played all 82 games 8 times, how many times did Lebron do it?, Michael Jordan is a 10x Scoring Champion, how many times did Lebron do it?, Michael Jordan is 9x All Nba defensive player, how many times did Lebron do it?, theres nothing to discuss. Michael Jordan averaged over 30 in the postseason 7 times, how many times did Lebron do it?, theres nothing to discuss, hes approaching year 24 and still has 2 less titles"

Virgin Galactic stock is currently +165% over the past month because Redditors on WallStreetBets are confusing the ticker $SPCE with Space X ticker $SPCX
Thats how dumb the market is right now
Nothing will shape your worldview as much as simply reading how humans from the past thought.
You realize very quickly that our time is a radical anomaly in human history.
I understand Forrest Frank isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. I wouldn’t put him on my Mount Rushmore of greatest musicians.
But he’s my favorite artist.
Why? Well, you give me someone else who can have my 8 year old running around the house singing “Jesus is alive!” 🤷♂️
Don’t care what anyone says. This dude is helping advance the Kingdom with young people in a major way.
I just put in an offer on a beautiful Texas ranch that’s 40 mins from home.
I want my boys to drive a tractor on the weekends and chop down trees.
I want them to get blisters, hunt deer in the fall and drive the cattle to the processor.
That’s my dream. Fingers crossed.
I’m at Starbucks.
White kid with grommets in his ears takes my order.
Seeing my book on Marx he assumes (wrongly) that I like him: “I’m a socialist, too,” he says proudly.
“Great. Then you won’t mind, comrade, if I just take this coffee without paying.” I wink as if we’re a secret society.
He looks startled. “Huh?”
“Well, people like us believe in the free and equal distribution of wealth. ‘Death to all tyrants,’ right?”
“Uh, yeah. I guess. But who’s the tyrant here?”
“Starbucks, of course. Oppressing third world coffee growers and me in my right to free coffee.”
“But you have to pay for it. Nothing in here is free.”
“I know. Capitalism is just the worst, isn’t it? Screw the capitalists, said Marx, and I say screw Starbucks.”
He looks trapped, but he’s not sure how. I let on that I’m teasing, pay, and tip him generously for enduring my playful persecution of the idiotic worldview that he’s adopted more like the latest ideological fashion one tries on but doesn’t actually understand.
This is the typical “socialist” youth. I encounter them on campuses, online, and in coffee shops just like this one.
My point wasn’t so much to mock him—it almost certainly isn’t his fault—but to gently poke holes in what is more slogan than actual coherent conviction.
Do you engage the young in your life? Do you speak to them on meaningful topics? Last night my three sons and I sat out under the stars and debated the spiritual significance of baptism. That may seem meaningless to some, but not to us. I wanted to challenge them and be challenged. I’m pleased we can do that. At other times we discuss politics or cultural trends.
Don’t neglect the young for they shall one day, be it for better or for worse, define the country.
I'll never forget this as long as I live.
I was 8.
The bases were loaded & I was up to bat.
It was coaches pitch & my dad was pitching to me.
I smashed a line drive up the middle & sprinted to first. When I looked up the short stop had caught it & I was out.
I started crying.
My dad instantly came over & knelt by me looking me straight in the eye.
"Ty, you have 2 choices now:"
1) Wipe your tears immediately, go encourage your teammates & play as hard as you can the rest of the game.
Be a VICTOR.
2) Feel sorry for yourself, cry, make excuses & sit on the bench. Be a VICTIM.
My dad didn't say it wasn't fair:
-If the bases weren't loaded he wouldn't have been playing up the middle & caught it.
-He coulda pitched it better.
-It was just unlucky.
Because none of that matters.
You made an out. Now CHOOSE what you'll do next.
I wanted to be a professional athlete.
Should I sit around all day feeling sorry for myself I wasn't born 6'8 & freakishly athletic & privileged like LEBRON JAMES?!
Life's never fair & what does fair even mean?!
Your job is to DISCOVER THE TALENTS & GIFTS GOD BESTOWED ON YOU & MAXIMIZE THEM!!
Victim or Victor. You choose & know you can never be both!
my general take on this question around fomo is pretty simple
“should I buy $MU at $800?”
well, if you buy it here and are not ECSTATIC to buy it 20-30% lower on a dip, then you should not give into the fomo
being on the sidelines of a trade is so much healthier than thinking you have to chase it
buying at ATHs means you are acknowledging that you want to be part of the story but the risk outweighs the reward so you HAVE to accept being ready to DCA
fomo happens when you buy something just to buy and then if it dips, you have no idea what you bought so you buy high sell low
any fomo buy should be rooted in accepting it is a chase and then being ready to average down in case it collapses
or, just don’t chase a name that you missed and be okay with missing it
it doesn’t have to be so mentally draining, there many opportunities in the market beyond the names that capture most attention and not being part of them AND not taking the risk of being part of them is okay
