I remember sitting at the parole hearing of a woman who spent 23 years in prison for killing her husband in self defense. She ran 4 states away with her kids. Called the cops who told her to “get a dog.” Had DOZENS of witnesses.

And ONE MAN still denied her petition for release b/c “why didn’t you leave?”

She called police 50 times about her abuser and there was a restraining order against him when he broke in the night she defended herself. It's unconscionable that charges would be filed. Prosecutors are supposed to be the ministers of justice.

An ICE agent scanned the wrong license plate, chased the wrong man, and ended up shooting Julio Sosa-Celis through his own front door. DHS’s first story: Sosa-Celis attacked agents with a broom and snow shovel. City surveillance video proved that was false — the whole struggle lasted about 12 seconds. DHS admitted its agents gave “untruthful” sworn testimony. Charges against Sosa-Celis were dropped with prejudice.
